No asking for Link for the game

You're a dick. You can't get in trouble for asking for a freaking link on a site. Maybe if you post it, or put an ad on the side of the site. Just ridiculous.

Thanks for the infraction by the way.

And you're still a dick.

Are you really that dense? The person asking for the link can't get in trouble, but if someone posts a link and the owners have knowledge of said post and allow it to stand, they are at fault.

Its a requirement to be a mod on this board.

These fugers are lucky I was at the game. The warning has been made. I would have banned them until I sobered up and actually remembered who I banned. And depending on how much I drank, it could be never.

You were too much of a sweetheart, Squirrel.

Me? I don't give a poo.

This guy is a beast.

The "linking" issue was especially bad tonight. Taking up room on the board for such gems like "boo7382 wants to know" and "all BLACK unis."

I didn't give a poo about the uni threads but it bothered some other mods. The thing to remember is if you want to throw out bullshit threads, do it in the Lounge all you want. This forum, especially now that the season has started, is just for Panthers topics. Bullshit in the Lounge, and no illegal poo (or anything that could get the site sued by the NFL or others).

It's not that hard to understand. If you can't understand those simple rules, then you will have no sympathy when you are banned.

Well, most of those uni threads were "mock" threads for laughs, but I agree. However, I do like to have a few laughs here in this sub-forum, especially considering I don't leave it.

I like to have fun here as well, like I said, those uni threads didn't bother me. Hell, I guilty of that poo too. And I've had some of my threads here deleted or moved because it pissed off zod or another mod. But I was wearing my big boy pants so my panties didn't get in a wad.

Point is, the illegal poo or poo that can cause this site to be sued, is a bannable offense.

I just will not warn people anymore.

The way I see it, if you are not smart enough to know what could cause a person to get banned, you are not smart enough to be here. Consider this the only warning I will gave for any bannable offense all season. (yea, it has something to do with how lazy I am)

Now, back to your regular scheduled program of "the sky is falling" here in the Huddle.

If we allow people to ask we are still at fault.

No you can't. It's a public board. Who is going to get you in trouble, without knowing what site is even being talked about? No one. That's why the "link" could just be "the link" and that person gets a "PM" about some random "link".

Not defending or anything in anyway, just saying. Maybe people should just ask for a PM with the "link" in the thread.

What?

The main issue is if someone posts a link. However, if someone makes a thread asking for links and asks for them to be PMed, etc. it is still the burden of the site owner.

The reason being that they would easily know that the links are being distributed, whereas completely random PM's that aren't being announced in the middle of the forum are less visible. However, that is just a technicality and this site could probably still be held responsible for the content of those PM's, especially considering that these things can be found by automated processes (however, it is much more difficult to do that than it sounds, which is why it would be easier to defend).

The fact of the matter is that it is not allowed, a reasonable person should know as such (or they should read the rules, as you are instructed to do and they are presented when you register) and not ask for links. Violating this rule puts the site and the people who provide this site at risk. It's not about being "asshole moderators", it's about assholes who are jeoporadizing others by asking for illegal streams in the forum.
