Which position to address...

Anyone who thinks we need additional help on the DLine is dillusional.

The DL (Both DE and DT) have played great football in the first two games. We are fine there.....as I have been saying all preseason.

We desperately need someone for PR.....I don't care if he averages 2 yds per return. I would settle for someone who could actually field the ball at this stage.

I would also like to see a veteran #2 WR. Jarrett is not the deal. LaFell may have potential, but he is not ready to be a #2.....which is common for rookie WR's. Moore is OK, but nothing to write home about. AE and DG are projects.

As for AE....I am not ready to call him a complete bust yet. However, he has been less than decent. If he were a 5th rd pick or lower, he would not have a chance in hell of making the squad. God, we suck at picking in the 2nd round....and yes, he is a 2nd round pick.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Jarrett is a servicable #2 at the moment (he will have to suffice). I don't mean that he will be the #2 just because he is experienced, I mean that he will be the #2 because he is more capable than the other guys behind him.

I hated typing that. :o

If I had to choose between Kasay and Baker, I'd choose a sure 3 points every day of the week. Kasay has too much value to cut.

I'd rather have a sure punter like Baker instead of giving the other team great field position each time with the potential to lead to easy FGs/TDs.

Regardless, Kasay is like 50 years old and he's almost at the point where he can't hit 50+ yarders. When do we replace him?

When do we replace him?

When he decides to put the shoes up.

There is no question in my mind about it. Let Kasay decide when to leave; he has more than proven his worth and position on this team. You should hear Sutton defend him, much less any player who has been here even longer.

Baker isn't as sure as you might think. He takes too long to punt which has resulted in either blocked punts or near misses. Not to mention the shanks every now and then. A good FG kicker is much harder to find than a good punter. Just look at all the teams around the league that have struggled to find a good FG kicker. Kasay can still hit long FGs and his numbers from the 50+ range are right around the average of other kickers in the league. Anything else below that and Kasay is still one of the best.
