Richardson approaching Fox about his contract status?

John Fox is a top 10 football coach, and his record proves it (compare stats since Fox took over, no brainer). Fox wants top 10 money, and Jerry Richardson is not willing to pay it. The Carolina Panthers will not have Fox after this season unless there is a massive change of heart in how much they are willing to pay Fox. The Panthers are clearly unwilling to pay him, so he is gone after this season, no if's, and's, or but's about it. Maybe they will hire a prominent coach, maybe they will promote from within, but whatever you think about it, remember this: There are no more than 9 coaches (probably less) with the success Fox has over his tenure.

This will become more painful as time goes on if there is not an upgrade at the HC position.

People are throwing that around a lot.... But where is the proof? Right now JR is not going to pay no one that is pretty clear and the reason is just as clear. He will have as little money on the line as possible in case of a lockout.

JR have never been cheap, hell he gave Pep over a mil pr game last season so I find it hard to believe he is to cheap to pay the man who have made the Panthers what is it. Lets get all this CBA poo out of the way and Fox is signed.... If he want to.

The JR is cheap is a myth.

I think you've almost answered your own post: "Right now JR is not going to pay no one that is pretty clear and the reason is just as clear. He will have as little money on the line as possible in case of a lockout."

I am not accusing JR of being "cheap". However, nothing has ever been presented to me, with logical reasoning, besides money, as being the reason for not re-signing John Fox. Is there another legit reason?

Well I just presented my theory. So yes its about money but not in the way you make it sound. And BTW the reason for my response in the first place is that you make it sound that JR will never be willing to pay him.

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
