I'm insane

You don't have to like people. You just have to like conversation and listening.

Yeah well I don't like conversation and listening either because that involves people. Its wierd I think you have to shut all your real feelings off and take nothing personally.

I've been in sales for 10 years now. I love when new sales people come in all eager. They buy into the "sky is the limit" and think it will be awesome. I think its like 70% of people who get in to sales aren't still doing it 2 years later.

I wouldn't doubt it one bit. Sales is not for everyone.

Me, I could sell a ketchup popsicle to a lady in white gloves.

I don't think hes doubting his own abilities, more less burnt out and bored with it, but probably can't stop now cuz of the income...well that sums me up anyway

It's funny I was just watching a movie called Lifeguard, where Sam Elliott plays a lifeguard given a job selling Porsches, and the sales manager gives him all kinds of hell when he comes in for his "interview".

This right here just really threw me off. You watched a movie that involved Sam Elliot playing a lifegaurd turned Porsche salesman?

What about this movie screamed, "I must see this!" to you?

I am trying to wrap my mind around how you would a)pitch this movie to a studio b)entice Sam Elliot to want to be in it and c)make anyone outside of Meat in the viewing public want to watch it.

My old man built a company from the ground up that employed like 200 people. He did it all with his sales skills and his willingness to work long hours. Ever since, he's been miserable in every other thing he's tried to do. You're either born with "it" or you aren't. At least I know I wasn't. I can't imagine anything worse than thinking you're good at sales when you aren't and trying to make a living at it. Getting beat over the head all day long would suck.

Oh, I wasn't speaking to his personal situation, just to sales as a whole
