Need help with a letter

I don't think I should add my memories of half time. Well, the memories I remember at any rate.

In all seriousness, you don't even have to write of any real memories of yours, but by setting the table for people to hearken back on their own high school days is going to get you better results than just asking for money.

I get what you're saying and try to incorporate it in there.

I'm not even on the boosters board (just a booster club member), but no one else seems to be taking the initiative to do anything. I've got 6 more years invested in the band program; Ty's a junior and then Casey will be at Hunt in two years. Someone needs to step up to the plate and help these kids.

Let me put it this way: You're trying to make a sale here (whether you believe it or not), and being successful in sales is about connecting with the person you're selling to and getting them to connect with you in turn. Whatever you can do to nurture an "all for one and one for all" attitude in the person reading your letter is going to make your conversion rate that much higher.

Damn it, I'm off work now and here I am still speaking the tongue.

Here in San Diego we have a couple local radio stations that do a "pause for a cause" or "about the music" break each day, where they allow a local fundraiser to come on the show and drop the info. They have had on people requesting donations to music programs at schools and such, so if any of the radio stations in your area do anything like this (around here it's the stations that mostly play local/alternative/rock, or the local morning shows) send them the letter too.
