cyclists who ride on non-residential roads.

it's hard for motorists to not be bitter since we pretty much get held accountable for almost every single fuging incident between a vehicle and cyclist/pedestrian/etc, regardless of whether we were logically blameless. My real problem is with peds though, god are they really fuging annoying, they treat the road as if there's this impermeable bubble surrounding them that no matter where they cross or even if they sprint out these 3000 lb machines that are operated by imperfect humans, they won't get hit.

i got pulled over once from a sting operation "catching" drivers for not yielding to pedestrians. the problem with this though, was that, you could first spot the planted ped from 1200 feet away, and if he didn't move the whole time, it's kinda reasonable to assume he's not planning on going anywhere now is he?

it kills the flow of traffic too the way these fuging random crosswalks keep popping up. So what, now a line of 20 cars has to form so one fuging person can walk across the street and go to supercuts? What happened to "look left, right, then left again before crossing a street"? That's the first lesson they give you when talking about crossing a street. If a driver gets caught not yielding he gets a 100 dollar ticket, and his insurance goes through the fuging roof. If a pedestrian jaywalks, if someone catches him, do they even enforce the fuging law? And they rarely get fined, and they don't have to worry about insurance rates going up. No letter coming in from their *** telling them their health insurance is going to go up because they're a risk. The balance of the way drivers and pedestrians are treated is unreasonably skewed way off level.

Dockery, I recognize venting threads, i've made them and participated in them. But some of the comments and opinions in this 'venting' thread are deranged. Smoots went into detail on why he feels the way he does, which explains it even if I don't agree.

I wish those in this thread wishing slow death on cyclists would just hop on a bike now and then. It's fun, healthy and comparatively safe, even in traffic. And there is no requirement to wear spandex.

There is more than enough room for both bike and car on 99.89% of roads so bitching about getting held up by cyclists is really weaksauce.

That being said, large groups of riders should yield to faster traffic, plain and simple. Do I follow all traffic laws? Hell no. I don't follow all laws period either so at least I'm consistent.

Sorry, but ride on the ******* sidewalk or learn to mountain bike. I don't buy this Share The Road horseshit. Roads were built for cars. Go to cycling class at the Y if you want to get some exercise and aren't coordinated enough to ride a trail. We're using the roads because we have to, not because we can't exercise like real men with weights and basketballs.

I encourage all people to throw bottles and rocks at bikers at any chance they get. I like to pull up next to them as closely as possible and yell and blare the horn until they fall over. I also wish testicular cancer on anyone who wears spandex.

litter bug

I bike to work and back 4 days a week plus Saturday and manage to do so without delaying traffic and without any idiots like you f**ker's daring to flip me off and then have my fat ass catch up to you at the next red light. I average 27mph on my road bike and 15 on my mountain bike. It takes me 13 minutes to drive and 22 minutes to bike. I don't have to waste my time at a gym and I get the satisfaction of breaking a sweat twice a day. Something you pasty internet warriors may want to try out. Or you can just save up all your inner dislike for when you get home and can kick the neighbors dog when no one is looking.

But don't get me started on loser scooters.

they are worse than bikes

No one actually wants your friend to be dead, but bikes aren't meant for high-traffic roads. You take a major risk riding a 14 lb. aluminum contraption amongst a bunch of 1.5 ton automobiles during rush hour. Not that he was, but that's really what most of us are complaining about.

some are carbon fiber and weigh around 5 lbs
