Madden 2011 difficulty setting

I just got Madden 11 a few days ago after taking a few years off from the series and was trying to figure out the most realistic overall setting for the game. I have played two games on the pro level and have won each, 55 -10 and 50-13.

I would like a better game but I don’t want the game to jack up the ratings to make them all super human like I suspect they are on the All Madden level.

Is there a realistic level setting?

Yeah all pro is too easy and all madden is almost impossible. You got to find a happy medium. What i do is go to player skills and put it on custom. For passing, change pass blocking to 25 (makes it easier for defense to get in your qbs face), change wr catching to 40 or 45 (anything less will make even the best recievers drop catches, and as for qb accuracy i just kept it at 50 . I assume your playing at the panthers and you think running the ball is too easy? Well change run blocking and broken tackles to 25 (all madden settings), but for fumbles keep at 50. What i do for pass defense is to keep all three settings at 25. (for some reason i'm good at pass defense unless i'm playing the colts, saints, or patriots) and as for run defense i change everything to 25 (all madden setting yet again) but bump tackling to 50 (prevents cpu from breacking 2-3 talkes at a time). And if your worried that its easy to complete passes because your qbs accuracy is at 50 go into cpu settings and bump up their pass defense awareness to 100.

So basically everything is set to the all madden setting; except passing, tackling, and fumbling is on the all pro setting. See if this makes things tougher.

I think I'm giving it up. It's just way too easy. Even All-Madden settings got too easy. Which is really weird because I haven't played Madden since 2005. I figured I would suck. Back then All-Madden was ridiculous. I never won.

That being said what were some of your favorite pass defenses?

I've been using gameflow. But I've found that I can't get much pressure with 4, so a zone is basically asking to be eaten alive. Man and Blitz audibles are the way to go.

Yeah, I have always had to spend hours combing gaming forums and tweaking sliders to fine the most "Realistic"

I'm so sick of that. + with a unchanged franchise mode, I don't even think I'm going to pick it up this year.

Hard to say. I like the Cover 2 press and I use the 4-3 over or 46 when I'm trying to stay solid in the run game. Having Norwood on the LOS really helps. He's a great bullrusher he needs to be on the LOS to really work it. Just all depends. I can't stop the Saints in franchise no matter what I do.

I played today with one of my good friends. He's the only guy I've ever played Madden with. I usually beat him but today we played in heavy snow and he beat me like 96-52.

I beat the saints today 38-14 on all madden (with CPU QB accuracy set to 100,). Intercepted Brees 3 times. Twice with Marshall and once with Gamble. But i was just using the gameflow on defense, not picking any plays or adjusting what my players were doing. The interceptions came with man to man coverage and i got pressure with my front 4.

The game is too easy even set to all madden. I'm good at defense (probably the gameflow helping to some extent or luck) and at running the ball. The only problem i have is passing. QB (Moore/Clausen) throws it nowhere near my wr even when i'm not moving the left stick and they have a good ten yards to catch a pass with no one around. Makes me so mad so i have to set my settings to custom to up my passing (keeping other setting set to what they are on all madden).

I played my first game of Madden 11 yesterday as the Panthers against the Jets. I won 56 to 0 without knowing what I was doing. I only made one extra point after a TD and had tons of delay of game penalties. :willy_nilly:
