Kenny Moore has "disappeared" since the first week of camp

I think they feel like they've reached a point where they know what they have in Kenny Moore, so they're giving other guys more snaps to continue evaluating them.

I would be shocked of Kenny didn't make the team given our need at WR and what he has shown thus far. I think we'll carry the following 6 WR's this year:

Smith

LaFell

Moore

Jarrett

Edwards

Wright

2009 - 4, Smith, Muhammed, Jarrett, Moore

2008 - 5, Muhammed, Hackett, Jarrett, Jones, with Robinson inactive, S. Smith not on the roster (punch suspension), when Smith came back R. Robinson was placed on IR. DJ Hackett and D. Jarrett then swapped weeks being the inactive for the rest of that year. We may have had a game with 5 active, but if so it was not the norm.

2007 - 5, Smith, Colbert, D. Carter, Robinson, with Jarrett inactive

2006 - 5, D. Carter, K. Johnson, Colbert, Hankton, with Smith inactive (injury)

2005 - 6, Smith, Colbert, Proehl, Hankton, with D. Carter and Gardner inactive (IIRC we cut Gardner for performance at about the midpoint of that year)

2004 - 5, Muhammed, Smith, Proehl, Hankton, with Colbert inactive

2003 - 6, Muhammed, Smith, Proehl, Hankton, with Baker and Young inactive (IIRC we cut Young at some point to expand the roster at another position due to an injury)

2002 - 5, Muhammed, Smith, Byrd, Hankton and the infamous Anthony Bright, all active

We have kept 6 WRs twice. I didn't think we would keep more than 5 until I looked at Fox/Hurney's roster history at the position. It's very plausible in our current situation. Jarrett is right there on the bubble next to Moore if we keep 5. In reality, the competition has just started, the next 2 preseason games are the largest part of the evaluation for these 2. Practice if very important, but in the end, it's their upcoming performances that determine if they make the team.

I think a lot of the Jarrett hate is overblown. I bet you Jarrett will step up in the next few pre-season games, and people will be singing a different tune. Jarret is the same as as Lafell, he was young, dumb, kid, and now all indications are he's matured and having a great camp. He has the ability, now he has the chance to get out and show it.. We'll see if it happens.

Not exactly, Lafell is running correct routes, getting separation and doing all the things right so I wouldn't call him "dumb". Now in his fourt season or whatever I think DJ has page one of the playbook down so he finally has the go route memorized...just sayin you really shouldn't compare DJ to anyone when it comes to smarts

I'd love to see him make it, but I just don't think there's room for him. If he really shines as a returner I could see us keeping him. If not, whose position do you see him taking:

Guy's the odd man out here. I think Jarrett will be cut to make room for Gettis, but I could very well be wrong on that one. I see Smith, LaFell, Moore, Edwards and Wright as locks.

why is it keep hearing this "Jarrett will finally step up this year"...seems like every year. yeah he seems like hes matured more but only the rest of the preseason will prove that. fox said they are going to rotate pairs of receivers, so kmoore and jarrett and then lafell and...i guess armanti..or maybe guy...either way, if jarrett doesnt step it up for the rest of preseason i think we should cut him. he hasnt proven otherwise in the regular season (yes, i know jake may have contributed to that last year), so maybe we should give someone else a shot who actually wants to work hard and perform.

I think Jarrett should be cut as well. We've got to give these other young guys a shot. As much as I would like to keep Guy (I really am a fan), I just don't see him beating out any of the other receivers you listed, nor do I see us keeping seven receivers (six will be a stretch).

Again, if he can be a good returner for us, maybe he makes it. Even then, I'm not sure what we'd do. Put Gettis on the practice squad? Even then, I feel someone would pick him up. It's probably more likely we try to stash Guy on the practice squad.
