beason is a classy guy. i dont think he overreacted at all. gruden said he looked like a fish out of water. which is abnormal for gruden bc he loves and fears us. he fears smitty more than anything. he always speaks highly of us, so ill let this one slide. beason is a baller either way.

I don't think they had the correct cleats on either. Typically in the rain you wear 1 to 1.5 inch screw in cleats. Most had the 1/2 molded which will not work very well in rain.

Do you have any idea how outrageous 1.5 inch cleats would be? Players would be aerating the turf and blowing ACL's like it was their job. 1 inch is the longest cleat I've ever seen and you don't typically see people break those out unless they're playing on a wet, sloppy field.

Florio is such a little bitch... I would comment on PFT or directly to him via twitter but I was banned after challenging him on the garbage he wrote about Smitty.

There are so many things to pick apart in this article that I don't even know where to start... one of the most glaring is the assumption that the Panthers do not have any MNF appearances because they played like "a school of beached barracudas" (whatever the hell that means?).

Yes we went 8-8 but we also sported the 3rd best rushing offense including the first ever duo to both rush for more than 1100 yards in the same season and the 8th ranked defense, including the 4th best passing defense. On top of all that, we abused the Vikings while they were fighting for the top seed in the NFC and we demolished the Giants while they were fighting for a playoff spot and closing the Meadowlands....

Not too bad for a bunch of "beached barracudas". We're not on MNF because we're a small-market team and we didn't make any flashy moves in the offseason besides drafting Clausen. The MNF schedule is first and foremost a popularity contest.

I'm surprised he didn't bring up Beason's strip club incident.

...or suggest that Beason might get Smitty to deliver a "cheap shot" to Gruden.

One thing is clear, Florio has it out for the Panthers because he perceives them as an easy target (smaller fan base than teams like the Giants, Steelers, etc) and because guys like Smitty will directly respond to Florio's comments and challenge him on them.

Florio = troll and the best thing to do with a troll is to ignore.
