Yea i posted a florio article, and yea, he got a couple of shots in, but ill keep this about Beason this time.

Added Beason: "You're not going to look perfect on every play.”

He's not "bristling". Context is everything. F**k Florio.

The players and support staff have a responsibility interact and make sure the are in the proper cleats for conditions (see Clausen interception among numerous other occurances). I think Baltimore did a better job of that than we did. My perception is they slipped a lot less, but I don't know, it could just be me screaming "haha!! f**ker!!" at the TV every time one of Ravens fell down. The staff/players should have been on this with the first slip out there. Maybe they give them baby cleats in preason so they don't tweak as many knees or twist as many ankles.

^That's what I think was the main problem, but Beason did over-pursue on the play. The slip came when he tried to use his speed to get back into position. On a dry field, or in the proper cleats, he would have.

Pretty impressive little blurb you have here.

Firstly, you didn't even correctly state Beason's former position. Jon Beason played the mike linebacker position for the vast majority of his career in Carolina prior to 2010, during which time he was elected to two Pro Bowls, a first team All-Pro in 2008, and a second team All-Pro in 2009. Someone who has somehow made a living offering analysis about football should probably know that.

Secondly, I don't think you mean "collectively" when describing the Panthers play in 2009. Collective generally means the entire team. Certainly you're not talking about the running game, which was the first in NFL history to produce two 1200 yard rushers. Of course you're not talking about the offensive line which helped produce it. We know you're not talking about the defense Jon Beason played for, which Football Outsiders has ranked as the 5th best in the league in 2009. No, by collectively, you're probably referring to one player, Jake Delhomme, who benching led the Panthers to collectively finish 4-1. That's okay, you can be forgiven for not knowing the definition of a term on a first grader's flash card. You just write for a living and have a law degree.

Thirdly, the team's collective play comparable to a beached fish aside, you're falsely equating winning record to MNF appearances. Just a brief glance at the schedule would show a few teams with worse 2009 records than the Carolina Panthers. These include bottom dwellers like Kansas City, the Bears twice, and even an appearance by your favorite miserable team, which hasn't been relevant for the better part of 15 years with few exceptions. Furthermore, MNF is no longer the marquee matchup of the week. Much like the rest of ESPN, it's made up of mostly hype, pomp, and an inflated sense of self importance, not actual results on the field. Once again, much like the team you shamelessly apologize for.

In your long history of making up stories about the Carolina Panthers, this isn't as embarrassing as you running and hiding from an on air, over the phone confrontation with Steve Smith, but it's probably more mind numbing than you claiming the Panthers were firing their oldest front office employee when they decided to allow the contract of their third oldest scout expire.

More credit do you, Mike. You've managed to make a successful website based around reporting contract numbers, editorializing AP articles, and throwing as many noodle rumors against the wall as possible in the hopes that one sticks.

This does kind of highlight that the only thing you're worse at than speaking on camera (which is like watching a beached barracuda suffer a slow, painful death while children poke it with a stick) is actually knowing something that isn't mentioned in the article you're shamelessly riding the coat tails of.
