Fox proved he can start a rookie WR, can he do the same at the QB position?

Well, LaFell ain't starting yet.

That said, the knock on Fox being afraid to start rookies is bogus. Fox's flaw is once he commits to starters going into seasons (whether it be vets or rookies) he appears to be unwilling to make a change if needed in season to his depth chart. Injury seems to be the only means to get Foxy to change his depth chart once a season begins in terms of starters.

You know what I find interesting about this, man? That even though it is a knock for fans, it's actually what I think players would prefer. Im not saying that ALL the players love it since a coach would always be late bringing in new talent, but I really feel that if you earn a starting spot with Fox that there is less fear and stress and its easier to keep your mind on your job.

That would seem to translate on the field and it seemed to with Jake often. I think Jake was a streaky QB and I mean that not necessarily in terms of stats (although I think it would show up on the sheet). I think he was very emotional and because of that, his focus could be anywhere from INTENSE to downright almost apathetic. If you had added Fox breathing down his neck, he probably would have leaned more towards the dogchit side more often than he did. . .ahh a true gambler I'll miss em.

I wonder if Fox was always like that or did Jake make him more like that.

Whoever gives us the best chance to win. If Moore goes out and does good, he'll remain the starter. No question. If his performance is shaky and the kid we all saw during the last month of the '09 season is nowhere to be found, Fox will probably put Clausen in. At that time, we just have to cross our fingers and hope he can manage the game as he continues to learn.

Well, the coaches (and most fans) think that LaFell has done the better job thus far in his battle with Jarret, not saying that its a done deal yet, but if Smith plays a preseason game I wouldn't be surprised if LaFell is opposite. Just saying. And the qb situation, is kind of bleaky now, I think the 3rd preseason game will be the point if Moore is still the man since he will have alot of reps with starters.

I have heard nothing from coaches suggesting LaFell has done better thus far.
