I don't think Fox's job is safe unless we win at least one playoff game next season. I can't see us going one and done like this season and Fox keeping his job.

There's always the "our season was ruined by injuries" excuse, but I'm not sure that it's going to work again.

That's why I asked about going to the Superbowl. Because I don't think anything less will save him, exspeacialy after his comment on just making the playoffs this year being the goal of the team.

I think he could get canned unless he wins at least one playoff game. I doubt we'll even make the playoffs next year based on his winning season/losing season rotation and the fact that we have to play the AFC and NFC east next year. Plus Cowher and Shannahan will still be out there. Could also come down to who the owner is should somthing happen to Jerry. Anyone heard anything recently about them finding a heart donor for Jerry?

Pretty similar to the 3-1 each quarter comment if you ask me. There's a lot of things I really like about John Fox. But sometimes, with some of the decisions he makes, I wonder how we've managed to win as much as we have with him as head coach.

Oh well, for better or worse, he'll be here next season. That's for sure. Fired for anything short of a Super Bowl appearance? Not so sure about that. Like I said before, another one and done would probably mark the end of John Fox. This is especially true if it happens in the same fashion as this most recent appearance.

Barely losing a championship game by the skin of your teeth is one thing. There's a lot of things that happen on the field that are way out of a coach's hands. Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way. (See 2003 SB)

Being the #2 seed and getting blown out at home by a team you're supposed to beat...and in your first game after a week's rest.. that's another thing entirely.

No because the fans never get what they want!

At the beginning of this season I don't know anyone that wouldn't have wanted the NFC South championship and with it, a playoff birth.

Granted, it didn't end as we would have liked it, but I know I got at least one thing I wanted... and that's at least half of what Fox and Hurney promised.... a crazy good run game and a stout defense. Now let's get that last one, and we'll be in good shape.
