Change the coaches and change the players every 2-3 years. Have an owner who tells the fans the teams the greatest thing on earth. Hows that working out for Dallas. All I know FORE SURE is after I set thur the 1-15 2001 season, John Fox And Jake have taken us to three playoff seasons and two NFC championships and one superbowl..So in 2008 we go 12-4 and have one very bad loss in the playoffs and most the folks on this board want to be like Dallas and just start over.

How many of you complainers bought a David Carr jersey ?

Ummm...our defense sucks with a ton of talent. Fix the defense and you won't hear a peep out of me. Jake is 100% the QB for next year there is no doubt in my mind and I'm not mad about it but the defense has got to be fixed. Someone on this board said that if we got long term deals done with Peppers and Gross then the complainers would be happy...I also believe that to be true.

To be honest most people are not complaining and are being pretty rational. They are questioning the same things every pundit, critic and announcer is wondering, if everyone is wondering it then there must be cause for it.

Fox has done great for us and he will be here next season, but somewhere along the line his philosophy has changed somewhat, especially defensive. This team is not like the ones in prior years. This team was a TD scoring machine and had huge problems defensively, just the offense bailed them out so many times.

Plus Fox has been with us for 6 years and Trgovac 7, with 5 as DC. I agree continuity is the key to success, but only if there are not fundamental flaws with what is happening in the philosophy.

Status quo won't work. You ALWAYS evaluate at the end of the year and see where you make changes.

Thats why there is a draft and Free Agency and you can trade.

SOMETHING does need to change. If you don't think so can I have your PIN# to your checking acct?

I certainly think Fox should return. I can live with Jake starting next year. But if this team doesn't take some important steps to improve our defense, I will have lost a lot of faith in our team's chances to do deep in the playoffs. The problems with the defense are correctable, though, so that's a positive. :D

The defensive philosophy has changed. The Panthers were a major bump and run team with physical DBs in the Super Bowl season. It is pretty hard to play that style when your CBs line up 7-10 yards off the ball.

The major bump and run stuff ended in 2004 because of changes in the rules byt the NFL.

I am well aware of the changes. However, a DB can still jam a WR within five yards of the line of scrimmage. Again, it is hard to do that when you line up 7-10 yards off the ball.

oddly enough if you payed attention to the last game they played up on the wr's quite a bit, much more than they have the rest of the season. It really doesnt matter when you can't get enough pressure on the QB.

Our secondary this year was better than the 03 secondary. The big difference was on the DL.

      Really?  Back to this again? How many times have I said that I’d prefer to trade back from #1? Too many to count, but as I’ve pointed out, that’s going to be much easier said than done, as once we signal we want to trade back, teams will know we don’t want any of the QBs and they’d target the 2nd pick in a trade instead. All of my “T-Mac at #1” talk has been discussed under two circumstances… the first being that no QB or DE pop before the draft, and that we can’t trade back. But again, I know you don’t like to actually read that stuff when I say it, as I’ve said it numerous times.

      Thanks for posting this. While this was far from a great performance, this critique shows what some of us noticed last week. Bryce played "a little better". There is some talent there. But, as you pointed out we really don't have a great pass blocking line for dropping back each down when we are behind. BY has got some bad habits and physical limitations. At times his teammates let him down. The play calling isn't always the best. I hope he can learn from last week and show us some improvement in the Saints game.

      Oh, and yes, I’d take a WR first in this upcoming draft, but again, that’s not in a vacuum I wouldn’t have taken him over the QBs this past year or likely the ones next year either. It’s all relative to who is available in a specific draft, and I don’t think any of the QB’s are worth the risk at #1 this year. Also the fact that you’ve said you would take T-Mac #2 but scoff at him going #1 is just in itself, super weird.  How you can justify a player at #2 but not #1 solely because of their position and with complete disregard to the other players available, is absolutely crazy town talk
