DirecTV blows

lightsout

Recommended Posts

something about using more satellites on the HD/DVR receivers get a near perfect signal... perhaps that's a good excuse to the wife on why you need to upgrade your TV and to DVR..

if the receiver wasn't installed properly people could face issues as well...

anyhow, whatever issues your facing, don't think for a second the grass is greener.. unless you have AT&T.. :)

there will always be people with bad services or bad experience..

EVERY cable/satellite company has their issues.. when you're talking about 58% customer satisfaction from TWC, 66% from DTV.. and all others fall in between, you aren't anywhere near 90% of people being happy with ANYONE..

luv directv.

I don't really understand when people lose service. It has to be raining really hard for me to lose any service, and even then it's usually only the hd channels. If I switch to the non-hd equivalent, I can watch just fine still.

I've had the same HR21 model for the DVR and had no issues, either.

Leaps and bounds better than TWC, Directv will actually negotiate pricing with existing customers.

Same here, only lose my HD channels and it rarely happens.

cable doesn't go out in the rain, the snow, high wind, bird shitting on the lnb, and the neighborhood kids don't have anything to shoot their pellet guns at.

I had cable for two years, and I've had directv for 2 years.

In that time period I probably lost my cable 10 times, for hours to days each time.

In that period I lost directv maybe 5 times and for no more than an hour each time.

Cable does indeed go out.

Cable doesn't do 1080p. Not sure why more people don't see a problem with this.

that, cable only has 40HD channels compared to 130+ on DTV (whats the use of paying $2500+ for a HD TV?, more than double the DVR room than cable (plus you rent cable boxes every month and 5 years down the road, you find out your getting fugKKKED... lol)

cable doesn't go out in the rain, the snow, high wind, bird pooting on the lnb, and the neighborhood kids don't have anything to shoot their pellet guns at.

cable comes in through satellite, but I get your point.. back in the day this use to be an issue.. if you haven't had DTV in the last year or had an old receiver, you wouldn't have experienced the better signal quality than cable has to offer... Cable also fugs with a lot of people in the form of reboots.. I can't tell you how many people were pissed around the superbowl beause TWC kept rebooting in the middle of it (I quit this field around then)

cable has horrible sound distortion, video lag, and in urban areas the screen is stretched and everyone looks like Oompa-Loompa's... when life is so much better with a new dish..

like I mentioned above, there are issues with every company, some better htan others, but not by much.. customer satisfaction falls somewhere between 58-66%.. so nearly half of every customer base hates what they have... like cell phone companies..

-------------

don't get me started on roadrunner.. after using AT&T, it pisses me off to realize how bad they scale back your bandwidth..

oh, and let's hope you folks don't lose ABC and ESPN on Sept 2nd.. lol as of now, they are..

we had twc, grams has dish. DirecTV is miles ahead. its just that much better. doesn't take much to be better than time warner though. I wish those fuggers could get put out of business....(they aren't one our sponsors are they?? :leaving:)

TWC is like BCBS is so many ways........................ it's only a name, anymore.

your picture is 10X more vibrant as well...

I love DTV, had them for 15 years now. Customer service is excellent. My new DVR is still screwed up. They are sending a tech. I'll never switch to TWC although I might threaten.
