My concern is more about the contract we’d have to give Higgins and that I don’t think it’s worth that by itself, let alone also losing our 2nd rounder on top.

If a team trades for him, Higgins is getting a Top 5, if not Top 3 WR contract.

He’s not worth that

Remember our 2nd this year isn't "our" pick. It is closer to the 3rd.

The money I can understand. But, I would rather pay Higgins top 5 money that Horn, TBH.

Trading premium draft assets to turn around and hand a massive contract to a guy who has missed a combined 10 games in the last two years is the EXACT type of move that this organization should NOT be making.

I would MUCH rather just draft T-Mac at #8. He projects similarly to Higgins IMO anyway. I would prefer a pass rusher at that spot but if we're this interested in adding a potentially elite receiver then just stop this mess of trying to give away draft assets and a huge chunk of cap and draft the guy.

Sounds like the issue is that Car isn’t willing to give them a 1st.

I would rather draft McMillan as well but can you guarantee he will be there at 8

Nope. But man, we can't afford to give away draft assets and cap space at the same time.

One of T-Mac or Warren will be there at #8 practically guaranteed if we're hell-bent on trying to get an elite receiving target for Bryce.

I don't want to give away our 2nd either. We need quality players on cheap rookie contracts. We don't need to give away the picks where we mathematically stand a solid chance of getting quality players on cheap rookie contracts to in exchange hand out massive cap eating contracts.

I'm fine with having a discussion with Cincy about this to gauge the market. Doesn't hurt to talk and the media could be overblowing this whole thing and it may not be anything more than just that.
