Except it’s literally not. Dowdle is on a 1 year deal and Brooks won’t play a down until 2026.

He also said day 3 pick which is likely where we’ll land on drafting one.

Care to name the other backs on our roster next year?

If we pick up a running back in the draft he will be 3rd string this year and next

Fantastic signing. I can’t believe some fools think signing a 1,000 yard rusher for 3 million is a bad move. “We can easily draft a guy in the 6th round that will be an all pro and rush for 1,500 yards on a deal that only pays 1 million!” Seems legit. This is great great great news and Bryce Young is thrilled to have two proven capable RB’s behind this line to depend on this season.

Exactly look how long it took for chubba to develop. He would fumble KO in his rookie year.

in a historically good rb draft we are signing vets for this?  Doesnt compute

We can still take a guy in the draft. Like 4th round or later. Somebody gonna fall. There are so many options out there.

The math doesn't really work on that.  If you need a RB, having a historically good RB draft gives you a better chance of getting one without reaching.  But it doesn't mean that you purposely go into a draft seeking that position.  We still want BPA, whatever position it is.  If we get BPA, but a bunch of the picks around it are RB, who cares?

Strong logic. Address as many needs as you can before the draft to allow BPA. Going into the draft forced to draft specific positions at specific rounds means possibly missing on some better talent. We all know this roster needs talent.

Exactly, which is why I don’t like this. Dowdle is a JAG. If he wasn’t, the Cowboys would have extended him. They are clearly going RB in the draft.

There were several RBs taken last year day 3 that would be suitable complimentary RBs to Hubbard and there will be again this year.

Oh well, at least it’s not much but it will be annoying if somehow we skip over this RB class.

They signed a RB in Javonte Wiiliams.

    • This was my question if he was someone that could get open. Well yall will be clamoring for another number 1 wide receiver next year for the 15th year in a row.  Meanwhile we give up 45 points a game. He sounds like taller Legette that may be able to catch, guess we won't know until September. Also, everyone assumes this guy is now #1, the fug he is. Theilen is the number 1.
    • My man. I’m with ya, as long as the huddle exists I think it’s the best option for panthers discussion and news. I’ve definitely become much less active since Tepper turned the team to poo and if I lived in NC and had panthers fan friends and acquaintances to talk panthers with maybe I wouldn’t be on much but for an out of towner it’s a great resource for discussing the team and despite some of the clowns here there are plenty of good dudes and discussion
    • Love CBS for this. I don't know how they got an A- based on the other ratings, but I give a B+. Had they have gone edge or a defensive playmaker overall or traded back and got Tet or Tyler Warren then come talk to me. This was a reach and you can't convince me different Green Bay admitted to considering three wide receivers. THEY PICKED IN THE 20s. Many anticipated Tet being there. Maybe we tried to trade back, but Dave already said it was going to be the Michigan DT or Tet, the two picks that i liked the least at 8.  Round Pick Player Grade 1 8 Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona C
