Panthers sign former Rams MLB

Recommended Posts

Carolina Panthers Primary LogoCARLinebacker#56

Panthers agreed to terms with LB Christian Rozeboom, formerly of the Rams, on a one-year contract.
Rozeboom entered the league as a UDFA with the Cheifs but found a permanent home with the Rams in LA. He steadily earned more playing time, culminating in a breakout 2024 campaign. Rozeboom made 11 starts across 17 appearances and led the team with 135 combined tackles. He logged five TFLs, four pass breakups, and one interception. Rozeboom will compete for a starting role in Carolina during training camp.

This is a good signing considering how paper thin we are at ILB. This is also special teams depth since he played there for most of his career as well as logging in full time special team snaps last year as starter and in their playoff game.

I think this signing will say a lot about Wallace. If he can’t beat this guy out, then it’s time to officially move on from him after this season.

What? Dude was a rookie last year and is 22. poo I'd keep him till his rookie contract runs out at least.

lol WUT??? He was forced into a starting role and actually played decent as a rookie. My god you are quick to give up on a draft pick that was a 3rd rounder to start with. We signed the guy to a one year deal, if anything Rozeboom will be the backup.

You must have low standards if you think he played decent. He ranked 138/189 MLB’s. He was also over drafted. Never should’ve been a 3rd rounder. I get that he’s a rookie, but you still want your rookie 3rd rounder to show flashes. He showed hardly any flashes as a rookie. If he did, then in what game? Please let me know and I’ll go back and watch. I saw a lot of missed tackles, bad pursuit, bad instincts, bad block shedding, he looked lost. He was outplayed by an undrafted guy. If he improves then great, but I’m not holding my breath. 3rd round picks frizzle out more times than not anyways. It’s my opinion, if you don't agree, then that’s fine

Started a bit spotty last year but played well down the stretch.  Only 2 real seasons of work in the bigs.

PFF's second most improved LB in 2024:

Christian Rozeboom, Los Angeles Rams

  • Snaps from Week 1-9: 396 | Grade from Week 1-9: 47.2
  • Snaps from Week 10-18: 432 | Grade from Week 10-18: 70.0

Rozeboom was a key figure as the Rams defense stiffened up in the second half of the season en route to winning the NFC West. His 70.0 grade was 26th among linebackers, and the former undrafted free agent was tied for the third-most PBUs (three) at the position from Week 10 onwards.

    • Lol it doesn't work like that, you don't go from special tea s gunner to respectable deep threat with a whooping 3 catches in college. Let's draft a speedy vertical threat that is a yac guy.
    • Happy to do it--as I said, it is the only way I can see the board.  I see Jalen as a possibility, and he has a strength nobody has really mentioned much--with today's elusive QB, he would be an excellent shadow.  He can move around, screwing with the C and OL, step up to blitz--the qb motions in a back to block him--and he drops into middle coverage and shadows the qb.  This should help our edges. I should also say this:  If we start stuffing the run, the offense is going to pass more.  Jalen can cover the TE if needed.  A back if needed.  Not ideal, but sometimes the threat of a blitz or rush is better than actually doing it.  We must understand that if we stuff the run, the offense will throw.  there could be situations in which we'd pull Roseboom or Jewell and move Walker into the ILB role while we add a dime back.  Of course, everyone says he is an edge, but we need to make sure that we maximize his skill set.  Just my opinion, Shocker.
    • People won't believe me but I saw this guy doing standup in Crabtree Mall in Raleigh when no one knew who he was.  Talk about want to. I was like 10
