Hey I thought he looked great. But just because he had a good Preseason game doesnt mean he is the second coming of John Elway.

You're right. He is the second coming of Joe Montana. Wow typing j is tough on this keyboard since I spilled beer all over it last night.

Exactly. I won't let myself be more than encouraged until he takes a regular season snap. Moore is on a 1-year contract, so Clausen might have a while to wait.

I also hope he doesn't see the field this year and gets time to develop. Still the hype up to now was mostly from the outside. If there is a lot of hype internally it suggests more is going on that we may have thought. And Richardson's influence may be driving more of the long range plan than we know. Lets be honest, Clausen looked good for a rookie against Baltimore but he didn't exactly look good. After all he was in there for 2 quarters and produced 0 points. Compare that with The Golden Calf of Bristol who played in the second half and went 8-13 for 105 yards and a running touchdown. It seems to me that both he and Clausen are backups and projects at this point not starters.

First of all, Kyle Orton looked much better against the 1's than Matt Moore. Not judging Moore, only responding because you are comparing games. Second, The Golden Calf of Bristol was playing against the threes and not the twos like Clausen. Third, Tebows stats look great but the feedback on his play has been anything but good. He exposed the football multiple times and went right back to his cannon throwing motion - check youtube you will see exactly what I am talking about. No way that translates against a starting defense.

For the way he was pressured and pressed the entire time he was in he did move the ball very effeciently; IMO! Not saying he should be starter just saying don't take away from what the kid actually did. There is a reason he is getting all the national hype, its because he looked better than any other QB we put on the field in the first preseason game! Give credit where its due! All he did was hand the ball off? Did you even watch the game? Besides I know lots of QB's that hand the ball off, like 32 of em!

you ask if he watched the game, I ask the same question, but differently- have you read his posts? lol

re-read, I think you'll find a different take than your assuming he's saying...

You are right he did produce 3 points. my bad. On the Sutton fumble run, we got the ball on the Baltimore 31 yard line which is within field goal range anyway and obviously we got 0 points. Like I said 2 drives in a half of football is hardly that great. He had very good field position on several of our possessions so it isn't as if he had to go the whole field to score. On the last drive before the half we got the ball on our own 40, he threw 2 good passes in between 2 sacks and a bunch of incomplete passes. Again he looked good for a rookie. Lets not make it more than it was at this point.

and I totally agree.. he showed great poise, but he has a lot to work on..

I guess I am in the minority here but I think we should have a qb competition and may the best man win. If Clausen continues to shine I see no reason he shouldn't get the chance to earn the starting spot. I don't buy this he needs to sit for a year or 2 crap anyway. This kid is more polished than other qb's like Flacco who have come out and had early sucsess

WAY too much is being put into the 1st preseason where Clausen played against scrubs.

There is a reason why all reports have said Moore is lightyears ahead of Clausen prior to that game....

How come that's not the answer that's what I ponder....Running with the ones he may or may not be more effective it's not unthinkable....We won't know until we try..Just when I thought fox was growing from his old stubborn ways....& it seems like he is with his current contract situation (Hardy a lil ahead of Eb which is justified) from my evo so it looks diff

I know, I understand.. America's biggest downfall will be the me! me! me! now! now! now! mentality that runs rampant...

however, that's not the best approach in the NFL (or in life in general, lol)

there is absolutely NO reason to throw a rookie QB into the lion's den... the risk is far more dangerous than any reward...

when you have a guy like Moore who has already proven to be more than serviceable, just put on your seat belt, enjoy the ride and we'll see where we end up..

LMAO.. . yeah, because Delhomme is gone and replaced by a guy with 8 career starts in the NFL, but Fox is back to his old ways because he won't start a rookie QB, which is the hardest position in all of sports...

I don't get it either... especially when Moore has shown he can play, and Clausen still has a lot of work to do...
