Per Yasinskas: Quarterback Competition?

Clausen actually produced 3 points, and very well could've produced 13 if Sutton didn't fumble at the 1/LaFell drop a TD, and if the snap was decent for Kasay's last-second kick.

You are right he did produce 3 points. my bad. On the Sutton fumble run, we got the ball on the Baltimore 31 yard line which is within field goal range anyway and obviously we got 0 points. Like I said 2 drives in a half of football is hardly that great. He had very good field position on several of our possessions so it isn't as if he had to go the whole field to score. On the last drive before the half we got the ball on our own 40, he threw 2 good passes in between 2 sacks and a bunch of incomplete passes. Again he looked good for a rookie. Lets not make it more than it was at this point.

I'm not, I'm saying actually his best drive was without question the 1-minute action he got before halftime, where he converted IIRC 3rd and 11 to Rosario for 19, scrambled for 12, and got us into FG range for another bad snap. Needless to say, I was very impressed with him on that drive.

well, to be fair if Sutton didn't fumble and scored Clausen gets zero credit for that drive. The defense recovered the ball at the 31. Clausen completed zero passes and the ground game took the ball all the way to the 1 where it was fumbled.

For the way he was pressured and pressed the entire time he was in he did move the ball very effeciently; IMO! Not saying he should be starter just saying don't take away from what the kid actually did. There is a reason he is getting all the national hype, its because he looked better than any other QB we put on the field in the first preseason game! Give credit where its due! All he did was hand the ball off? Did you even watch the game? Besides I know lots of QB's that hand the ball off, like 32 of em!

he looked good, don't think he looked better than Moore when you factor in the defenses.
