True, but it wasn't every carry. I remember us stopping the inside run a few times. Like I said, I'm not gonna sit here and say "we're going to be a top 10 run d this year" but there will be improvement, IMO. Even if its only a 20 yard per game difference, there will be some. Even the best run d's give up the inside from time to time.

We gave up 124 yds per game last season and were 22nd agaisnt the run. A 20 yard improvement would have moved us to 8th (where the Jets were last season).

My point....20 yards per game is a huge difference.

Absolutely agree.

I thought the guys did a fantastic job for Game 1 and against a very good run team. However, the test will be against the Titans....great run team...more gameplanning...and starters playing most of the game.

After listening to ESPN talk about how HORRIBAD our D was going to be this year; I don't see how anyone can have an opinion other than the one quoted here after watching the game! Work is still needed, yes but overall I'm very pleased

We gave up 61 yards on 27 carries.....how is that anything but stellar.

That is 2.3 yds per carry. And, it was against a top notch rushing team.

I am not ready to say that we have a brick wall on the inside, but I think this was a MUCH better showng than anyone anticipated.

You are absolutely right, but we don't know if we can expect consistent play at that level yet. I'm hopeful, but not convinced.

I think that chuckie was F&B on this diss, but they seemed repectful until the 4th quarter "EYES:eek:" extravaganza! The ravens looked like bad plastic surgeons had reeked havoc on their scleras..(save yourselves the problem...I looked it up!) The references to their keen sense of eye, crotch, coordination was blistering...looked like me when I go in for my senior citizens free eye deletion!
