Greg Hardy may have leaped Everette Brown in the lineup

I think its smart to work Hardy in as slowly as possible. He doesn't exactly have a glowing health history. Let his body adjust to the game with the lesser talent for a bit...

I like that approach as well, let him get used to the pros and practice diminating in pre season against 2nd team before he is a full time starter, but if he plays with the 1st team and dominates then let him play!!

This is the pros, we cant wait 3 to 4 years for guys to develop.

These guys get fat contracts and then dont produce for first 2 years??

We stepped up to get Brown, and maybe this is why he slipped down in the draft.

Do or bust for him this year.

I have high expectations for him

With Brayton out tonight, Hardy is running with the 1s and Brown with the 2s says Steve Reed.

While I like Everette Brown,i fully expect Greg Hardy to pass him on the rotaion order and look for him to even have a chance start before long.

Does anyone even care to look at the bottom line? We have a roster that's packed with young talent, and a rather low cap figure. Does it really matter where everyone was selected and when? Honestly, I don't think so--Hurney put it together and I'm plenty happy with it.

If Hardy came out last year and we got him by trading this year's first, and Brown spent another year in college, turned in similar numbers to his junior year, and we got him in the sixth, people who are bitching would be calling Hurney a genuis.

Bottom line--we've got talent. Shut up and accept it. :P

that's awesome that you have high expectations, but the fact remains a lot of positions in the NFL take 3 or 4 years for a player to fully develop..

you're setting yourself up for failure and then we have to hear you bitch because you have no clue that most rookies take 2-4 years to adapt to the NFL..

my god, some of you need to go hide under a rock.. or at least stay guests and stop posting.

To me, Hardy looked awesome.I know its early but he should beat out Brown.Brown will be used on some passing downs. He is not the Dwight Freeney we were hoping for.

Brown has been in the NFL for ONE NFL season.. so naturally he isn't the equivalent of a 9 year pro.. you're exactly right... :rolleye:

If we had our first this year, wouldn't we just have Jimmy, but at a higher price tag and a more urgent *need* to use him?

:cheers2:

No not necessarily. Clausen was taken because he was the best quantitative talent left on the board at the time. Had we had a 1st round pick there is no guarantee that we would have taken him, we might have solidified our more pressing needs at the time, WR or DT with our first pick rather than go the quarterback route. Hell we would have still been able to pick him up with our second pick anyhow.
