Underwhelming so far, Panthers may have a star in making

Hope Sorensen is right. I think by the time he develops it will be too late to help Smitty, I mean we needed somebody 2 years ago. Maybe AE and LaFell will be the new Smitty and Moose combo. My gut feeling is AE is to fragile and once he gets trucked, its going to be tough for him to come up with the ball consistantly.

You obviously have never watched Armanti play football before.

Trent Guy is another gem to watch for. I was sorry he got injured, but Smith is high on him and that's good enough for me. The outcome of the Ravens game was more positive, for me, than any loss we've taken in quite some time. Fact is, for the g, I saw a potential win, with some usual first game jitters, Gross outcomes, and more new faces than I have seen in quite some time. The Jets will be a better game to judge us on, IMHO!

Seen him play. Good ball player with special talents just not sure how thats going to translate into the pro's. App State's program is on par with Independence High. Its possible for and way past our time to find a diamond in the rough, hope hes it. Im just tired of getting amp'ed up on these receivers we've had over the years only to have them turn out like poo for one reason or another. Also, since hes deemed a ' project', that puts him on track to contribute to the team about 2-3 years out.

I'm no app state homer but to hear people say their program is on par with a high school is just dumb.

The crack about Independence was somewhat of a joke. There was a reason AE didnt go to Ohio State, Florida, Miami, Penn St, LSU, Texas, Auburn, Alabama etc where there is a much higher caliber of player and talent. Since ur the one with all the brains you figure it out.

I do hope he is going to be another Randal EL but the odds are against him and we don't want to see a draft bust...

    • his height, size and arm will forever cause problems and limitations...that is what it is.  I think to a degree, the law of averages is just coming into play a bit with him.  So as he plays more and more, you just flat out get the decent days mixed in too.  Which is just going to happen.
    • Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. But he wasn't 3-10 +15, he was 3-7, with at least one drop (minor but still). And with multiple passes at 14 yards completed. This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
