Post-game wrap: Ravens 17, Panthers 12

The Panthers achieved the first main goal of the preseason, and that was getting out without any major injuries.

DE Tyler Brayton had the scariest-looking one of the night, as someone fell across his left ankle after his second sack. He was wearing a walking boot in the locker room afterward, saying it could have been worse.

There were no broken bones, and he said tests Friday would tell him how severe the problem might be.

The only other two injuries coach John Fox mentioned were LB Jamar Williams (shoulder) and LB Quinton Culberson (quad bruise).

— Funny scene in the locker room, and more proof that QB Matt Moore is handling things just the right way.

While reporters were waiting for Moore, rookie Jimmy Clausen finished getting dressed and said he was ready. So he answered a few questions, when Moore walked by.

"See you guys," Moore said, walking past.

A quick duck around the corner to catch the starter revealed him standing there laughing and waiting.

- The Ravens offensive touchdown, a 30-yard pass from Joe Flacco to Mark Clayton, may have had a little assist.

It appeared Panthers CB Captain Munnerlyn fell down just before the catch, but the Panthers insisted Clayton got away with a push.

“He shoved me in the back,” Munnerlyn said. “I kept waiting for somebody to call it and nobody did. Maybe they didn’t see it, but he definitely got me.”

    • Yup, their defensive game plan was to stop the run and make Bryce Young beat them.  Honestly, would you blame them for that strategy?  Hubbard was bottled up most of the game until a couple chunk plays later in the second half.  I doubt he had 20 yards rushing at halftime.
    • As far as the rest of the season I based off how we progressed as a team these last few weeks, the Eagles are the only game I'd pencil in a L. Besides that we're playing on the level or better then Bucs/Atl/Az etc is say 4-2 not what I want but our offense is should be able to score consistently on any of the last few opponents and no one left has a defense comparable to the Chiefs but that's why the game is played on the field and not in forum chats.
    • There's a reason for that. I remember going to a Jets game at Shea Stadium, in the early 80's. One of my lasting memories of the game was seeing a Bills fan being slammed face first into a brick wall. I doubt that it's gotten any friendlier over the years.
