Always heard what a great long lasting car Toyota makes

Yea, I am leaning that way. I haven't made up my mind for certain, but I am leaning towards getting rid of it. Think I am going to start looking at my options on Monday.

Call a good mechanic, and help him find a transmission from a junk yard for him to install.

I did that and got everything done for $600. And this was a Z71 Tahoe.

Pull a Part.

I'm gonna run my 90 Corolla into the ground and then slap a new motor in it.

If I don't trade it for a 4x4 in a couple years.

I really could give 2 shits about the car I drive. There are much much better things to spend money on, like real estate or home improvements.

Never understood why anyone would want to invest so much money into a product that loses as much value as a vehicle does.

Then why do people drive festivas.

If I needed a work truck, I'd have a damn fine work truck.

But for getting me back and forth? As long as it runs smooth, I'm happy.

That's cool. You just asked, and I was answering.

Personally I have to have a large SUV, and it has to be in good working order, and in very good condition to perform my job.

I wish that I could have a smaller car thats good on gas...but thats not in the dice.

Actually, its under warranty and the dealer is replacing it free of charge. Point is that I am doubting the overall quality of the car since I am replacing the transmission at 65,000 miles.

I had a 1981 Toyota pickup. Easiest thing I ever had to work on. The only problem I had that it ran best on Copper core spark plugs. (typical iron core plugs made it ran terrible.) Once a year I had to replace all the copper core plugs because it would eat the electrodes. Then Bosch came out their Platinum plugs and I never replaced a plug again. I drove it 4 years in Minnesota, and the tail gate rusted out. When I moved down here, I bought a new one through JC Whitney and had a friend paint it to match the red of my truck. Drove it a total of 10 years and 122,000+ miles. Other than the fact it didn't have AC, I'm sorry I sold it.
