The D-Line...

The d-line was the best unit of the defense.

Most of you fans didn't believe me throughout the off-season, that while there is change happening, that the d-line isn't going to suck.

Just gotta remember how important good defense is to John Fox. You know the guy who is still coaching this team?

I have been right there with you defending these young DT's. Meeks wants more athletic D-linemen who can get some pass rush, but somehow, a lot of fans have it in their heads that more athletic automatically means smaller and can't play the run, but that's not the case at all.

They do need to work on recognizing screens though.

I agree about Ed Johnson. He was a wall in the middle last night. The d-line held up well against the run and did get some pressure on Flacco.

Munnerlyn was picked on a little and that will probably continue this year due to his size.

Defense won't be as bad as advertised, but we're not going to be able to rely on them to win us a game this year

Ed Johnson was the best DT last night.. he was constantly in the backfield on both pass and rush plays. He was splitting the gap, bull rushing, you name it. If he continues to play like that, he will be our starting DT guaranteed. None of the other NT/DTs really popped out at me.. I think Tank Tyler and Leonard both did what they were suppose to, and that is stop the run and take double teams. I did not see much of Hayden or Irvin.. but Landri looked pretty bad.. he has a motor but he really could not do much with that motor.

basically if they aren't house hold names, they get no credit. Rather than saying what they would like to see, they just jump the gun and say, these guys can't stop anyone. who is this guy? ive never heard of him, so he sucks

Chris Carter is a joke, and they only credited us with have two pretty good running backs.

Dline was fun to watch, stingy like hornets came to mind watching them with their stunts and pressure from all angles.
