I DON'T WANT Julius Peppers to be a Panther next year....

The Patriots let Samuel walk and their secondary sucked ass this year.

but at least they will be able to fill the hole created by Samuel when an appropriate player becomes available.

Better to have an off year waiting for a few pieces of the puzzle than to overpay and get yourself into cap trouble which leads to years of sucking.

That's because, as you said, teams do not hinge on one player. As I said, let Peppers go and get two or three really good players for the D with the cash you would have payed Peppers.

3 good/really good players>one great player

my thoughts as well.... for his $10 - $12 mil salary you can get two solid players for that same money....

A team does not hinge on one player.....

-Steelers let the beloved Joey Porter walk

-Patriots let caliber players like Asante Samuel walk

-Eagles have been famous for not overspending on players and cutting them when it's time- Trotter

and these three franchises are models of success that are usually in the playoffs and thick of things year in and year out.

They also plan ahead and have replacements ready to go. Who exactly is going to replace Peppers impact on our defense?

and that is why the Huddle has decided to cut Charlottenian, we obviously pay him too much because he burns jerseys. :P

Hahahahaha - I'm teasing but seriously I see your point - The cap will be our enemy this off season and I luv Pep and always will but it might be for the better interest of the team. I dunno - I am just glad I don't have to make those decisions.

Flame away, I got the flame retardant suit on anyways.... There has been a lot of knob slobbering about keeping the guy, I just came to the conclusion that he is not worth $1 mil a sack.... He is 29 years old so his window of top tier play is 2-3 years MAX..... I would love for this franchise to finally adapt to the methods that successful franchises have (Patriots, Steelers, Eagles) and let talent walk when the cost outweighs the benefit.... I know we won't find anyone of his caliber to replace but you build through the draft..... the time to extend Peppers was 2-3 years ago, now your going to break the bank for a DE who has more better days behind him then good days ahead of him.

i agree actually we could get some major picks for him and then get a qb and dt.
