Panthers, in turn, move on from Johnny Hekker, who spent the past three years in Carolina.

Carolina is swapping out 35 year old kickers.

So, at least a few people will still understand "Pete & Pete" and "Secret World of Alex Mack" references in the locker room.

Panthers signed P Sam Martin to a one-year contract.

Martin was released by the Bills on Thursday, and it didn’t take too long for the 35-year-old to find a new home. The veteran punter averaged 46.7 yards per punt and ranked 11th with 46.3 percent of his punts landing inside of the 20-yard line. The Panthers offense looked vastly improved at the end of 2024, but he should get plenty of chances to punt the football in 2025.

Same age as Hekker. Based on what I just read on Bills reddit he's been largely average to below average numbers wise. I assume we'll be looking for a long term solution in the not so distant future.

Now to see who our place kicker will be.

the way I see it, we just increased the $ for a punter and got a guy the same age with worse stats.

Explain this so my wife can yell what you type up to me on the roof, where I will be contemplating things.

Hekker was a dawg. I don't know why we didn't re-sign him. Maybe he was done here (can't blame him).

I'll forever miss his fake punts.
