So many times I’d rather them just not sign anyone and carry over cap space. We aren’t winning the SB next year. So at this point unless you’re signing an actual difference maker don’t bother

This is why I was fine paying DK 30 million a year. Otherwise they’re just going to burn it on crap anyways. At least someone like DK impacts our entire offense as a whole and defenses game plan for him. I can promise you no one is game planning for Patrick f’n Jones or Tershawn Watson

Ben Solak hates the Panthers and Bryce. Not surprising tbh.

Regardless, Dan overpaid

I like Moehrig but he ended up with the highest contract for a safety. Patrick Jones has no business getting the deal he did. People look at sack numbers and that’s silly. It was the same thing as Wonnum. I went and looked at a few of his sacks and like Wonnum’s he benefitted from being the free rusher on a blitz

It’s so important that they’re smart with their money as we get into Young’s prime years. We got into cap trouble with Cam and I really don’t want to watch that whole story repeat itself

When the Panthers start making great decisions that turn into great moves they will begin to get the benefit of the doubt on certain things. Until then this is the norm. Just labeling any and all skepticism as hate is silly. Welcome to the real world.

We’re going to overspend until we start winning.

B+/B from me.

His #1 priority was figuring things out with Bryce and he did that by providing a top 10 OL.

This year, he's looking to build continuity off of that while also improving the defense. The run defense was rough, so they got deeper in the trenches and made sure to get a SS that's strong in run defense.

If the biggest knock on him is that he didn't draft a 6th slot WR last season and took the best RB in the draft when none of the RBs on the Panthers were under contract for 2025... well... that's not too shabby.

Dan Morgan assembled not one of but the worst defense in NFL history last season  .DM draft picks are not producing he took an injured RB in the 2nd  & has has made some questionable FA moves

Idk I could go on & on but why beat a dead horse...just saying

That is ridiculous on several levels. First of all you have to spend 90% of your cap space every year so the idea you can just not spend it every year is against the CBA. Secondly your job is to assemble the best team you can for the fans players and team. Not to save money for the owner.  Third many players who are considered great underperform while others like Luvu and Jackson have overperformed. What about a  great player like Derek Brown who was injured and missed all of last year. Was he a waste of money?? Sure pay DK a fools ransom and hope he stays healthy. He didn't even get 1000 yards last year which averages out to 60 yards a game or play all 16 games.  And lets be real, Jones and Watson aren't  great but they aren't being paid that much either. Real glad you aren't the GM.

That’s not how the minimum spending rule works.

it’s a 4 year total, so they can in fact roll it over.
