For you golfers...

So we took off a bit early from work yesterday and played a new local course...

If any of you guys that golf are in the Wilmington area any time soon I want to recommend this place to you... right now it's $45 after 1PM, with a cart and free range balls. I was very impressed with the course. It's tough but not unfair... if you can hit the ball fairly straight, which I did not do yesterday... :(

Anyway, it's really nice... located just south of Wilmington off of Hwy 17.

Just planning a fall trip in early November with some friends. We were thinking of doing the typical Myrtle Beach thing so we can play 3-4 different courses but is there a better option?

There's plenty of great courses in MB, but I like a lot of the Brunswick County courses...

These are ~20 min. from Myrtle:

Crow Creek

Farmstead

The Pearl

Thistle

~40 min. from Myrtle:

Carolina National

St. James Plantation

~1 hr. from Myrtle (near Wilmington):

Magnolia Greens

Cape Fear National

I would recommend any of those I mentioned above...

We are looking at the Barefoot Resort package to play the Fazzio, Norman, Dye, Love courses. We haven't played any of them before. Know anything about that resort?

Sorry JR... I don't know anything about that place... somebody on here might though. When we take our annual golf trip we stay at Brunswick Plantation and only ride down to Myrtle at night...

That would work out good but none of us will be sober enough to drive back to Brunswick after going out at night. Stayed at Sea Trail and ran into that same problem. We need something that is walking distance or a short cab ride to some sort of nightlife (not that there is much of one in November). We might be alcoholics but we responsible alcoholics!
