Madden 11 is great this year!!!

I'm enjoying Madden 11 as well, but I did have to create my own Armanti Edwards since the Armanti that came with the game is a light-skinned black guy with no hair...

Now that I have an Armanti that actually looks like Armanti, I'm having a great time.

This has driven me crazy so far. I need to remember to do this in the morning...

The current generation of gaming consoles has been out a while, and is only about half way through it's lifespan.

The amount of software updates they're receiving, especially this year, is incredible.

The thing is, the technology behind PC games won't surpass console gaming because game developers won't let it.

Games are made are made to cater to console technology, and any game that surpasses it, is likely to be shelved until console tech catches up.

... uhhh... have you seen crysis? theres a reason its not out for xbox or playstation. games are made to cater to console technology my ass. keyboard and mouse far surpasses the precision, vast amount of on the fly hot keys, control, communication abilities, versatility and familiarity of a controller. i dont understand why it isnt easier to get a keyboard and mouse for xbox or ps3, hell navigating through the stupid menus just to change a few settings or invite a friend into a game is a pain in the ass. pc technology and hardware has been ahead of consoles for every major console release since the sony playstation.

also i only spent $186 dollars to turn my medium-high end 2006 computer into a medium-high end 2010 computer about 4 months ago. not a bad deal, especially considering u save money on games (unless its starcraft 2) and everyone on here ALREADY HAS A COMPUTER. not to mention how easy it is to get emulators and ROMs, some of those old games are tons of fun (and you cant beat free). finally, look at everything else your computer can do that your console cant (or can do in limited fashion). fully functional media center, cd/dvd burner, port for mp3 player, web surfer, email checker, weather, calenders, sticky notes, etc etc etc. hell now that i think about it, the only use i really have for my xbox is super street fighter 4.

is madden 11 worth 70 bucks? doubt it, but that shouldnt stop people from getting it. hell i was dumb enough to get suckered into getting madden 10 and modern warfare 2 (AND one of those map packs).

I'm nerding it up hardcore, making a spreadsheet of the draftable players in franchise mode, their ratings, their projected rounds, notes on them, their potential, and their overall big board potential rating.... oh yes... insomnia is a bitch.

If ya'll want realistic results, go for 10 min quarters and 15 sec accelerated clock. Also, used custom difficulty instead of just all-pro or all-madden. I go in between:11 for rush and pass offense and 10 for pass defense and 12 for rush defense

Through 3 weeks in franchise, I am 3-0, 2 of which were very close games. Our rush defense is holding up decently and Charles Johnson has 3 sack as well as Beason. Everette Brown also has a sack and so does Greg Hardy. (we have 11 in total). Matt Moore has about an 80 QB rating, Smitty has 230 receiving yards and Lafell is also doin pretty well. Williams has like 320 rush yards and Stewart has 200-somthing yards.

how do you get the RBs to split carries? I've tried changing the Auto-Subs thing under the Coaches tab but I can't figure out whether RB sub IN or RB sub OUT needs to be higher... I can never get williams and stewart to split evenly and it bugs the crap out of me.

I got it today. Here are some quick blurbs

I like the sideline catches, the competent run blocking, and the graphics.

I started franchise up and played through 3 games on All-Pro with 7 min quarters.

I played the Giants, it was raining. The Giants ended up fumbling twice and Eli through 4 picks before it was all said and done. He was having to throw a lot because the ground game was unstoppable. I clobbered them with over 50 points, Manning torched my secondary while throwing the 4 picks.

I played the Bucs. Their D-line was killing me. Hayes and McCoy were unstoppable against the run. Simmilar to the giants game but a much lower margin of victory.

I simmed the next game so I could play the Saints. Holy Crap they are high powered. I guess they've earned it.

They kicked my ass but I still won. It was the closest game I've ever played on Madden period. It was 42-41. It's too long of a story to explain. Overall they put 580 yards on me and moved the ball at will.

Right now running the ball is ridiculously easy, I have Williams and Stewart on pace for 4000 yards total. We are probably the best team in the game for running the ball but this is ridiculous.

Defending the pass is impossible, I've tried almost everything. I guess having the secondary with such low awareness is a severe weakness. They're retarded.

I'll try adjusting sliders for a few days but if it doesn't feel right I'll return it.

do it around 85 in 84 out. Don't go too high or it they will start putting the FB and TEs back there.

Heres what I did personnel wise in franchise mode.

Start Clausen, he's better than Moore. I'll probably trade Moore away for a draft pick.

Eric Norwood SUCKS, don't start him at OLB. I edited him to where he's a RE now and the results are much better. He trails recievers by 10 yards in coverage.

I cut Dwayne Jarrett and signed Brandon Banks to return kickoffs and punts.

Irvin penetrates really well at DT I have him starting with Leonard.

When I finish up the 1st year in franchise I'm going to draft a ton of DTs and DEs.

I was dissapointed that you can't sub guys in for specific formations in franchise. I know you can do it real time but that feels like a bother when in 05 you could just set it up automatically.

Maybe it's something I have set or something, but...

Playing as a "Superstar" RB on All-Pro, each time there's a pitch play, my guy speeds up like a fast forward button was hit when the ball was snapped, and the pitch goes behind my player and it's a fumble. And it happens every time, no matter if the play goes to the left or right.

I keep calling time outs to avoid them (which sucks) cuz you can't call an audible as a RB. lol

Other than that, I think the game is pretty good myself, minus the buying the online play thing. WTF is that about?

you know you can go to the depth chart on the main menu and edit him, right? you didn't have to re create him

Audibles are different but not worse. I can't seem to play defense worth a f**k, hopefully after awhile I'll figure it out. Playing my first season with the Panthers on All madden, Armarti is the poo. I've lost two games and I'm 8-2. My second game vs the Saints was 70 something to 28, they killed me. Just wish I could figure out the damn defense. I hate the ads, Old Spice Swagger this, verizon that. I would agree it's nothing but an upgrade with some old features brought back to make you feel like they did something new. Pretty much changed the font and added some new people. Worth the money, me and my buddies will play this all day Sunday before the games start. Fantasy drafting it up. I give it a 6/10.
