Looking at taking a day trip this Friday and ran across this review for a local hiking/camping spot call Enchanted Rock:

I disagree with the good rating of one of the Top 10 Camping Spots. I admit it has been a while since I was there as I had no reason to ever return, but it was a hike in place which was totally unacceptable. I was in a 36 foot motorcoach and there were no electric hookups, no water hookups, no sewer, no cable TV (hadn't bought the Dish at that time) and I found it totally unacceptable as a camping spot. The Enchanted Dome turned out to just be a big rock. Right down the road a bit however, at Fredericksburg is a city owned park called Lady Bird Park and it is just great. All the amenities including email access.

Yeah it's a shame nowadays you have to ask what kind of camping people are referring to when they say "I went camping this weekend".

It could be one of three things:

A) Camping like the definition (tent, fire, fishing, roasting marsmellows, etc.)

As described by captain_bill

C) Term used by online gamers in first person shooters for newbs

my style of camping is considered torture now. the definition has changed over time. its near impossible to get people "unplugged" for more than 24 hrs.

I frequently go on 40 day excursions in the wilderness with nothing more than the clothes on my back, and eat stuff like grasshoppers...
