My wife was making meatloaf last night. Set down the Pam aerosol grease spray. My son, now tall enough to reach things on the kitchen counter, grabs it as she is distracted by our daughter.

He goes in to the living room and proceeds to hose down the upholstery of the fabric sofa and the ONE stinkin' area that has carpet.

Just soaks the couch with the stuff.

Such a devlish little bastard. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Anyway, I can't think of anything other than buying a new couch.

Any ideas from you guys on grease removal?

The cover doesn't zip off, it is one of those shiny, maybe microfiber type materials.

I don't even know if one of those steam cleaner portables is worth the money.

the only thing I can think of would be bacterial enzymes

most chemical companies offer some version of a enzymatic carpet/upholstery cleaner that would do the trick, although it might take a couple cleanings.

might be worth a try.
