Carolina Panthers tight end King is taking command

ugh, we seem to have one of the worst TE cores in the league. i mean this group is really f**king horrendous. their blocking is adequate but can one of them ever become a desirable receiving weapon? can we ever have a TE that can give us 5 for 60 a game? how about 4 for 45/game or 3 for 40? i'll settle for that at this point since we haven't even come close to that since wesley walls

Jeff king's 2007 is just laughable, looking back at it now. it only even happened because david carr couldn't see anybody else while sitting in the pocket. it was just here-and-there production mostly, he was average in just about every category even in his best year, and that was mostly because david carr was feeding him the ball because he had poo field vision. also his first down percentage that year was mediocre compared to most other TEs.

nobody would even care about Rosario if not for that one game he outclassed Antonio Gates in and got that last second catch. He's made such an average career out of that one fuging game

I tend to disagree, every TE had some very nice plays and touchdowns last season. I think if one of the three can have a big game each week thats all we can ask for.

King had an exceptional teacher in that regard, as Mangum was one of the original "sum of the parts," players here. He never looked like much but parlayed his work and intelligence into a 10-year NFL career.

Mangum "did it the right way," King said. "He kept his mouth shut, he worked hard. You always knew what you had, you knew he wasn't going to make a mental mistake. Things you take for granted, he always did. I learned a lot from him on how to be a pro."

did he?

(By Darin Gantt, [email protected]) Throughout training camp, Carolina Panthers tight end Jeff King has been answering a lot of questions, almost exclusively about other people.p/At some point, you'd think he'd get credit for what he was doing.

This is great news.I was impressed with King at training camp.

He seemed to have a different swager this year nad really stood out.

I really think we should hold off opinions on our TE core until we get a full season WITHOUT Jake as QB...

Jake threw more to the tight ends than Moore did last year. That wqsn't the problem. We haven't highlighted plsys for the tight ends and used them primarily as blockers. If the tight ends have a good year this season it will because Davidson has finally figured out to use them rather than a great credit to whoever the quarterback is. Or it may be because our wide receivers as a group are so weak, the TEs look good in comparison.
