Charlotte Media Wants Clausen To Fail

The only way Clausen will get the job is if it is handed to him. Whywouldn't you want Moore to win the job, he has the experience and everyone wants to lead the team, players and coaches alike. The fact you ignore that to pander for your favorite player is a classic example of being close minded to the obvious fact that all accounts suggest that Moore will be the starter so we all should wish him the best.

You are being silly and obviously haven't read a lot of what I have written on these forums. You have handpicking various statements in my posts and arguing against them but not using my entire post. For the record, I do support Moore. I don't need him to win the starting job because he was handed the starting job. Everyone knew there wouldn't be a QB competition this season because Fox wants Moore to start. And of coarse everyone on the team, coaches included are saying they want Moore to start! Would you rather have them say I think Clausen or Cantwell gives us a better shot at winning? That point is ridiculous.

Also, Clausen is NOT my favorite player. I just know what he can do because I have watched EVERY snap of every ND game for the past three seasons while he has been there. Now, before you call me a ND homer, I am not one. I am a Florida Gator fan. Born in Jacksonville so I like the Gators and Jaguars. I am trying to follow the Panthers because I moved to Winston Salem two years ago and I didn't jump on the Panther bandwagon then because Jake wasn't a guy I could really rally around and be drawn to.

About your last statement, I know Moore will be the starter for at least the majority of the season. I do wish him the best. That is why I said I want Clausen to win the starting job. That doesn't mean I think he will win it in preseason or early on. But, if he continues to improve and impress, it is only a matter of time before they get him in there. You saw how excited this organization was when he fell to them.

I can be a Carolina Panther fan and wish the current starting quarterback all the best while still rooting for the backup to eventually take over the starting job, and that is all I am doing. That is far from close minded.

I've no feelings either way toward Moore and Clausen or any other qb on the roster until one of them can step up and be the franchise qb we've been wanting since 1995.

I do find it a little funny though that some people believe all the mud the media splashed all over Clausen. Most sports media have also spent the last year telling all of us that Moore is inferior simply because he was undrafted.

Seriously, I have a friend that hates Clausen with a passion because of what the media says about him. She speaks like it's 100% fact, then in the same breath ignores what the media has said about Moore over the last 10 or so months. Surely Moore is inferior because he was undrafted, right? Media says so, it must be true?

It is a shame that some people listen to the media and form an opinion.

Pretty much. It wouldn't annoy me so much if those people were at least consistent with their "media is always right" attitude.

I mean if some of the media happens to be right about all the negative stuff surrounding Clausen, then surely they're right about Matt Moore being a scrub, you know what I mean?

I do read your posts but they are filled with inaccurate and slanted perspectives. Moore for example wasn't handed the job, he won it playing very well in 5 games last year. He has also played better in OTAs, camp and practices so far. He has won the job because he is better, plain and simple.

And if you have seen every snap or every game at ND for the last 3 years, then you are a ND fan and homer regardless of what you proclaim.So stop kidding yourself or trying to kid us.

And if you think that Clausen will win the starting job if Moore plays well, you are kidding yourself again. He only plays if Moore struggles. So believing that Clausen wins the starting job unless Moore struggles is unrealistic. So you can root all you want for Clausen to start. Aint going to happen unless Moore struggles. And wishing for that doesn't make you a Panthers fan. So if you are a Panthers fan like you claim, and want Moore to do well, there is nothing else to say. Clausen will sit the bench like he should and learn.

Rookie QBs start when there is no other option. Matt Moore has won NFL games. Matt Moore is 6-2 as a starter and has looked well in the Carolina offense.

The Charlotte media is just applying standard logic that this season has Moore's name written all over it. The Aaron Rogers path is ultiamtely the one I want our future QB to take if that man is not Moore.

I too want our future QB to be playing behind a future Hall of Famer.

I watched all the ND games because they are on TV every week lol. I am done with this thread, you and I obviously disagree and we aren't bringing anything new to this thread so I am leaving it at that.

I think you're reading in to this too much, fitty. They're not putting down Clausen or want him to fail. They just don't know how he will do as a starter if he is given that job. Right now, he is just a big question mark.
