The same NFLN and ESPN that also talk about Clausen competing for a starting job toward the end of this season or as late as the beginning of next year? I haven't read anything either where anybody thinks Clausen will not be at least the second option at QB by seasons end. Hate much?

Change your tampon, take some midol and get over it francis. Your boyfriend isn't going to be the starter.

I def don't think clausen will play much this year (given a matt moore injury, etc), BUT the guys on SIRIUS today did bring up a very interesting point. They said that they felt that Marty Hurney came on the air and talked very very highly or Moore in an attempt to maybe increase the panthers leverage on a trade possibility. They even talked about maybe trading a qb or two (PIKE especially) to help other positions like DT and LB. That isn't verbatim what they said, but almost exactly what was being discussed. Clausen signed a 4 year deal..aka he isn't going anywhere. I can agree, it does seem that everyone wants Moore so be the guy in Charlotte, but i think everyone just wants the panthers to be in the best case to win. And right now that is with Matt Moore. Clausen will get his chance don't worry. FTW!!!

Says the guy letting ESPN do his thinking rather than use common sense. You also don't use any other information to back your statement other than "ESPN and NFLN said something like this once so it must be true".

If you can't see it then you just have blind hate.

I don't think this would happen if we were past week 11 or so and didn't have a legit shot at the playoffs. Why would the GM go out and grab a vet and add salary for no reason when he could just play the kid, get him experience, and prepare him for next year. If Moore got hurt early on, I think they would promote Cantwell and add a vet to be his backup, I agree with that.

I seriously doubt they would pick up a veteran after investing in two qb's in the draft. But, if moore gets hurt, i wouldn't be suprised if Cantwell may get just as much of a shot to play as Clausen.

I agree i doubt any are traded until we know exactly what we have in terms of qb's, like who is grasping the offense better, makes adjustments, fits the team, etc etc. But i wouldn't be suprised if Moore has a real good year..that he or Clausen gets shipped in the offseason, which may be a good thing. We will have found, what the front office believes is the franchise guy, and we can upgrade another position.

      The point is there is a difference between analyst saying he is the consensus no.1 and scouts/GMs saying it. If you are saying the substance is a bunch of talking heads on ESPN saying then that doesnt mean anything. There was literally numerous sources saying we were taking Stroud around the combine and mock draft creators, even Vegas had him as the favorite for a while. It changed later on, what part of that screams consensus? We know why it changed...the substance is irrelevant. Bryce supporters constantly bringing this up while he has shown nothing so far outside of heading to bust territory just comes off like giant Cope. Bryce had multiple red flags, there is no way all the teams had him as the best QB. He didnt even give any other teams the time of day outside of panthers and texans which makes it even more unclear they would all have him number 1.  Thats not your substance to support he was consensus no. 1. Period.
