Pro Bowlers

I know alot of questions are looming about the the capability of this teams ability to perform on a level good enough to make a run at the playoffs, because of key losses and the unproven new additions (even though I think they have as goods as a shot this year as anyother year). We have, for the most part a pretty favorable idea of who the potential starts will be by week one. So my question is, of the starters, who do you think will be invited to the 2011 probowl by seasons end? With the assumption none are injured for entired season. We all know the more inclined players are: Beason, Williams and or Stewart, Smith, and feasibly: Gross, Kalil. In your opinion do you foresee anyother player that'll perhaps get an invite?

I think that there will be many deserving of the trip, but maybe 1 or 2 that actually make it.

this. we are a small market team. even with a better record or statistically superior numbers, fans will vote in dallas/pittsburgh/washington counterparts.

Doesn't the fan vote only count for 1/3 of it though? Players and coaches make up the majority I thought.

I don't think its even a third of it for the fans if any. It could be manipulated too easily if they left any percentage of it in the fans hands. I think its 100% handled by the NFL in some aspect. They just let the fans vote to feel like they are a part of it. Do you think anyone other than panther fans are voting for Kalil? He made it even though I think it was a reserve situation.

I don't think fans should be allowed to vote at all. Players, Coaches, and sprinkle some writers in with it.

D-Will got snubbed in 2008 even though he had one of the better seasons a RB has ever had. No RB has ever put up his combo of yards, ypc, tds, and fumbles.

Once everybody knew his name he gets into the probowl in 09 even though his season wasn't all that impressive.

Defense:

I don't think any of our DLs will have a chance at the probowl. I think we will rotate them in by committee like we do our RBs and together they may have great stats (very low ypc run defense, lots of sacks and blocked passes, etc.) but individually it will be average stats. Connor may have a great year but there isn't a chance he will be voted in when Beason and Willis are automatic locks. Godfrey has a chance at getting in but he doesn't have name recognition outside of the Carolinas so he's a slim chance.

Offense:

Matt Moore will probably put up around 3200 yards, 20 TDs and 13 INTs, in other words, a mediocre year. Thats not deserving of a pro bowl vote. Whichever RB gets over 1200 yards will be the one to get a pro bowl vote but isn't a lock since AP, Gore, Turner, and Jackson are all big name guys and they are the only RB on their team. Smith might get in only if he leads the league in something (yards, rec, or TDs). He'll be like Deangelo of 2008, deserving but won't get voted in until the year after. Gross will probably be the only OL to get in and only because of name recognition.

So in other words, the only two locks that I'm positive of are Beason and Gross with the likely chance that one of our RBs gets in.

But my final answer is that none of our players go to the pro bowl because they'll be in the super bowl.
