So, I didn't want to put this in the Panthers forum, but I went to fan fest and took a few cards with me in case the player that I had a card for came to sign. (i.e. Beason, DLo, Smitty, Stewart, Kasay)

Anyway, I had a Smitty rookie card. He was coming our way signing everything, then he looked at the card for a bit, then went to the next person w/o signing.

Does he not sign certain things? My guess was that he didn't want to sign anything that someone could right out sell that was valuable, but I was just curious if you guys might know something I don't. He signed a kids football card, so I know it's not just cards.

I ended up with Kasay's auto and Dexters sweat rag (:leaving:) and a shirt thrown into the crowd.

Are there any other players that you know of that might have things they don't sign?

Off subject a tad, but several years ago I was standing in line at Food Lion Auto Fair to get Dale Earnhardt's signature. The guy beside me gave him a racing card and Dale looked at it, and said, "I didn't get a cent off of this card. I'm not going to sign it." And he handed it back with no explanation. I handed him a Maxx racing card and he signed it right away. (There were so many fake cards out there of Earnhardt's)

There are good signers and bad ones. Peppers hated to sign. He was convinced that everything would end up on ebay. I did hear the same thing about Smith as well. For the kids, it's a toss up, but for adults, he has to be in the right mood.

I could send cards to Jake and Wesley Walls' home and they signed whatever I sent them, then would send it back. Mugsy Bogues and Bernie Bickerstaff are the same way. (I sent 4 cards to Musgy and he sent me back 10, all signed!)

Someone told me that Beason has gotten that way. When he first started , he sgined everthing. Now he has to be in the mood.

It's cool that you got what you did.

how many little kids did you have to beat up to get all this awesome swag?

Only 4. Luckily I was taller than everyone around me so I could snag every item that came in my vicinity. I will say never sit on an isle seat in the front row. When it came down to the autograph session kids were everywhere.
