Like I said, hopefully he was just a late bloomer but sudden jumps in production in contract years rarely hold up in future years.

I'm just saying I wouldn't consider it a late bloomer being an URFA originaly you give first rounders 3 years supposably 4 for a undrafted guy not seeing many snaps originaly isn't late to me.

Agree. But 300+ pounds defenders should not be playing every snap. It was just a matter of time before he got injured.

I don't think that had much to do with his injury tbh first quarter of the year he had played like 2 quarters including pre season in 7 months

Carolina Panthers Primary LogoCARDefensive Tackle#98

Panthers agreed to terms with DT Tershawn Wharton, formerly of the Chiefs, on a three-year contract.
According to FOX NFL’s Jordan Schultz, the deal is worth over $54 million, though we don’t have the full details yet. Wharton appeared in all 17 games for the Chiefs and totaled 6.5 sacks plus seven TFLs. He added two sacks and a TFL to that tally during Kansas City’s run to the Super Bowl. Wharton never ascended to an every-down role with the Chiefs but will have the opportunity to do so in Carolina. The Panthers have been aggressive in fixing their defense early in free agency, signing multiple defensive linemen on top of other key moves.

Man I hope you're right. That would be a lot of cash for a couple more Shy Tuttles.

seems like a more prudent approach than paying DK 30 million per.  But fug man I hope this doesnt screw up our cap situation, we were so fuging close to having some actual breathing room with no poo deals.  But if a couple of these guys get sideways we have a lot of money on the books

I understand and definitely haven't forgotten our mismanagement of the cap it's become a Panthers tradition. At the same time this all still hinges on Morgan's ability to draft well either way. Let's just hope Tillis involvement in the process is a big help.

Cool. Just Hella risky. That's all. Hella risky. A lot of guys catch lightening in a bottle for one season and NEVER get close to that kind of production again. Never.

Due to our shitty drafting Morgan has to throw more darts at the board, albeit they are expensive darts but he has to be hoping 2 hit or more hit.  I wish we could get into a spot where its reversed and we are not signing guys on need but luxury
