Panthers got outbid by a team with way more cap space. Not surprising.  But the early report of him going to us was such a cock tease

Maybe him and his agent really were just trying to drive the price up

Actually makes me feel a little better, knowing we weren't willing to pay 28mil for him

Feels like we dodged a bullet at that number. Deepest DL draft in ages right around the corner, it's not the end of the world.

I hear people say this, but I don’t agree. You have to fill a lot of your gaps through free agency, while dynasties are built through the draft. Those players need to be developed, and that takes time. Rarely are these guys able to contribute in their rookie season.

That's fine, but you also can't just go out and make a good rotational player the third-highest-paid player at his position group, either.

Darnold to Seattle 3 years $110m. $55 m guaranteed

He raked them over the coals no way he comes close to last years numbers in Seattle without Metcalf and Lockett

He's got what Smith Njigba? Yep good for darnold bad for Seatle

Let’s not downplay him as a “good rotational player.” We were all stoked a little bit ago thinking we signed him. He’s a 25 year old game wrecker (see tape from last year) and there is a reason why he’s getting that contract.
