Bottom 10 Panthers of ALL TIME....

How can you say Fred Lane, Ricky Manning, or Captain Munnerlyn?

Fred Lane was undrafted. During his three years with the Panthers, he accumulated 2,001 rushing yards (the most in franchise history at the time) and 13 touchdowns. I think we made out on that deal. Ricky manning in the 03-04 Playoffs, he intercepted three of McNabbs passes in the NFC Championship, and against the Rams he had the interception that set the panthers up to win.

First of all, Lane went and got himself shot, definately didn't help the team. Munnerlyn fuged up on big downs last year and Manning had two good games, a flash in the pan, then everybody went out and got his jersey. Weinke had more "good" games than Manning.

Manning stepped up when needed as a rookie... the plays he made, were a strong factor in why we made it to the super bowl. Munnerlyn was a rookie last year... he played solid as a rookie, and yeah made rookie mistakes, most players do. Lane was was traded first then was shot. Wienkie did nothing...

I can't argue Manning's performance during the playoffs that year. But overall he blew more coverage and allowed a lot of plays especially in the redzone. When he was moved to starting DB away from his nickel position he didn't play well.

Wow. So anybody on our team that doesn't play for league minimum is stealing from the team? Do you have a job that pays more than minimum wage? Because you need to go in Monday and give that money back.

And all the folks saying Peppers and Delhomme took money? No, they didn't. They signed contracts that Marty Hurney put in front of them. So maybe his name should be on your lists. The only person I can think of in recent history that held out for more money was Beason, and that was his agent doing it.

once again you no undastand zee words i say to thee .. peppers .. jackass .. delhomme good guy ... peppers place lips upon my anal cavity .. delhomme i shake hand and say sorry it no work out..

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
