Hate that.  I get the Panthers were in a tough spot.....but you can't make a dude who has suited up for only 50 something % of his games the highest paid at his spot.

*Jayce Horn has still never played a single full season

Lots of guys are about to get paid, we just set the market.

This. Smart move. Inflation is a thing.  I think the CAP gets expanded next year as well.

Im sorry but Morgan is dropping the ball so far. Overpaid Tremble, paid starting money for an injured backup center, and now overpaid a CB after one healthy season. Yeah I want him here, but it came to that?

We are blowing money. What is our cap space?

Y’all are never happy about anything. “We should’ve paid this guy.” “We paid too much for that guy.” “We didn’t get enough for this other dude.” Might as well just root for the Cowboys at this point.

Lol If he wasn't injury prone AF it would have been no one is questioning his ability....

It's his availability that is the issue.

Well the good thing is they signed him early on day 1 of free agency and didn't let the situation fester like with Burns. We basically set the CB market so there's going to be guys that get more as more CBs and their agents bargin with Horns contract as the main talking point.

At $25 million per year, Horn is now the highest paid corner in NFL history.

Cornerback rankings
1. Horn: $25 million per year
2. Jalen Ramsey: $24.1 million
3. Patrick Surtain II: $24 million

Those three are in a class of their own. No other corner in the NFL even makes $22 million per year.

    • It's who I want, but it'll take our third round pick. Don't you think?
    • Love or hate Scout Smitty, 35 minutes of our franchise's best WR talking about the new guy three weeks before the draft is an interesting watch   - Steve's choosing his words more carefully now and keeping his favorites close to the chest lol - Most teams had T-Mac as top reciever in the draft and the only one with WR1 potential. -  Finesse player in a large body. Compares him to AJ Green. "I love AJ Green." Interestingly Green was considered speedy and Tet ran a faster 40. - "F****** dangerous in space" per scouts around the league but has trouble getting seperation. - Below average strength/physicality for his size. Difficulty blocking and against the press. - Low energy when he's not the focal point.  Smitty actually saw some of himself in him there. I thought this was his best insight. - High floor. Believes he'll be good at worst.    Summary: A natural at wide reciever with unique athleticism for his size. Question marks around drive and physicality will be the difference between him being good or great.
    • I think they had their eyeballs on Tet all along and where hoping he would fall to 8. This draft is stacked on the defensive side of the ball. They knew if they could grab their guy without giving up draft capital, it would be a win.  They have a plethora of quality defensive players left to choose from. Happy they didn't pick Walker. Undersized and really didn't put up the numbers worthy of a high pick. Time to pick the guys you want on defense and start building on that side of the ball. Add another Oline guy late in the draft to keep stacking the line. I will be happy with that scenario.
