Top 10 Panthers of ALL TIME

Damn I forgot about Kasay. Yea you can question the age of some of the posters on here, I've been a panther fan since I were a kid. I was only 5 when the panthers kicked off their first season, and been following them ever since. I've always looked up to Walls and played TE in high school to try and duplicate him. I can't tell you who took the first snap at the first panther game ever, I know it wasn't Collins, but I do know that he chokes in the redzone and Walls bailed him out on multiple occassions. I don't remember much from the 90's football years, until I watch highlights. Minter does belong on the list not only because of the person he is but he played gis heart out. Doesn't he hold the record for most Ints. Returned for TDs in panthers history.

The QB who started the first couple of games in the Panthers history is also the same guy that led the greatest College and NFL Comebacks in history.

There, that is a good hint for you.

? Moose came back and retired as a PANTHER

Pep left

But still he left in his prime and really ruined are NFC Championship game for us if he was there it would have been a different story... He came back... but the fact is he left...FOR MORE MONEY not cut not traded. That means he ditched smitty and Jake for Grossman to be the number 1. SELFISH

didn't we do this already? i could have sworn there was one of these up right around the draft... it was like 20 pages long... do we really need another?

yes because we ruined the Greg Hardy thread arguing this and about peppers... Tell me how many threads have been ruined since the draft?

There could be 2 lists here. One list of the ten best players who ever wore the uniform which could include veterans like Reggie White, Eric Swann or Keyshawn Johnson or the top 10 players who actually played their best as Panthers.

exactly you go by just stats you have to put Keyshawn in there

10. John Kasay

9. Jake Delhomme (Should be top 5)

8. Stephen Davis (not just for his amazing super bowl season, but also because he developed us into the mold that Carolina football is to day... A POWER run team.)

7. Deangello Williams and Jstew (already arguably the best running back duo EVER seen)

6. Wesley Walls

5. Mike Rucker (Class act)

4. Julius Peppers (Face of the defense for your years and an absolute freak)

3. Steve Smith (Triple Crown with colbert and carter next to you? The man is amazing!)

2. Sam Mills (RIP total class act as a player and coach)

....The number 1 Panther of ALL TIME is....

1. Mike Minter (The guy is the definition of PANTHER football, class act, big hitter, play maker, leader, spiritual, will be a Panther coach one day no doubt in my mind. The Sadest day for me besides Sam Mills dying was when Minter hung up the cleats. Easily number 1... those who dispute prove me wrong.)

NOT TO MENTION MINTER WAS TOTALLY FORGOTTEN BY EVERYONE B1TCHING IN THE GREG HARDY/PEPPERS THREAD.

1: Okay, hate it or love it, Steve Smith. I don't even know why I should bother explaining this to anyone, but the stats don't lie, and the spark he's given this team time and time again burns on its own

2: Jake Delhomme: I expected well deserved criticism for this, but come on, look past the INTs of last year, and tell me the Panthers have ever had a better QB. No matter what anyone tells you, the QB is the most important position in the game, and only in rare circumstances is the best QB not the best player in a team's history.

3: Sam Mills. Class act, embodied Jerry Richardson's ethic, small but powerful, but look past the sentiment that comes with his unfortunate passing, and you'll see he was great, but not extraordinary.

4: Julius Peppers: I would say he should be higher than Sam Mills, and had this been about the best players period, absolutely. However, I am not entirely convinced he will ever be looked at as one of the great prides of the panthers, and I don't think it is of any fault of his own. Peppers was a gentle beast, and he didn't need to prove it to anyone off the field. I only rank him 4th because a true Panthers hero doesn't make excuses for not reaching personal goals

5: Wesley Walls: Our best receiver not named Steve Smith. Sorry Moose.

6: Muhsin Muhammad: He would be higher had he not been a load of prideful insolence in his younger years. People forget how strong and physical he used to be in his hey day, and that superbowl record might take a while to be broken. He grew into a true stand up rep off the field

7: Deangelo Williams I love this guy. If he stays with us, he will be #1, no questions asked. Such a classy, down to earth individual. However, on the field he is a little napoleon, such power, and speed not seen since the days Curtis Martin. Deangelo Williams IS the best RB in the league right now.

Jon Beason: He is our franchise right now. No matter what you've heard, our defense, our spark, our ability to stay strong through this tough time, is going to come from Beason's leadership. In time, he will be recognized in the top 3.

8: Reggie White: Do I even need to say anything? RIP minister

9: Brad Hoover: Call me crazy, but this man deserves a statue.

10: John Kasay: Self explanatory

Honorable Mention: Beurlein: Great QB, but he had a lot of weapons to work with. i feel had he really been as good as most think he is, we should have won more games under his tenure
