If my wife goes into labor during a Panthers preseason game...

Recommended Posts

I was sitting on the couch the other day telling my wife about how excited I was for this season, when I realized that a year from now I'll be watching the games with my five-month-old son or daughter.

:)

watching my first game with my daughter next week. The perfect Birthday Present!!

The 30th, but I get a feeling that he is gonna be here sooner...

At her appt. this morning, she was 1cm dilated and about 70% effaced... whatever the hell that means...

The best part was when they did the swabs for the Strep B test... After the doctor left, I told her "Eww, they had to swab your butt... and I saw some brown on the swab when she put it back in the package"

hahaha!

Mine's due on the 17th. He was a pound above average at like, 30 sumthin' weeks. I think I got a LB on the way....lol

Congrats guys. :)

My daughter was born October 8, 2001. We lost to the 49ers in SF the day before and I didn't go to the game for obvious reasons. I've always blamed myself for the 2001 season for not being at that game. So it was the worst year and the best year of my life at the same time.

Can't remember if TiVo was around back then, but if it was there's no way I could have afforded it. I do remember saying something along the lines of naming my kid Wesley or Donald if we won though. Woulda been Muhsin but a white kid named Muhsin woulda been fodder for elementary school kids talking poo.

Edit: didn't mention that we didn't know the sex until the birth. Wouldn't name my daughter Donald or Wesley.

My wife was induced on the day UT had a basketball game in the SEC tourney. I joked (kinda) with her all through labor to hurry things up so we could watch the game with the kid that evening.

She didn't, it was a long day! Still, in the middle of everything, I completely forgot about the game because of everything else going on, and didn't remember until we got home two days later.

It's preseason. You'll have far cooler things going on!

Congrats, by the way.

You could very easily make it past the game. My wife was 3cm dilated for almost 3 weeks before she started labor. Also once labor starts you really need to get to 4cm before you even go to the hospital, some will just tell you to go home and relax and come back in a few hours. My wife went into labor during a Duke/Carolina game (march 9th 2009) she let me watch the whole game before we left.
