What do you guys feel the outlook for this year and the future is?

Cowher will be coaching NC State if he ever coaches again. His wife had always been an NC State friend and she had connections to the new AD there.

But I digress. This year is not a rebuilding year, it was a "make cap-room" year and it worked to perfection. We now have room to sign all of our FAs and Thomas Davis will have to sign for cheap because of his injury issues.

Once our d-line and safeties gain a little experience and we bring in 2 more 1st round picks, we will be a serious SuperBowl contender.

if this was a totally obscure joke referencing the translation of rosario's name to rosary from spanish to english, i totally got it!!!

:bigear:

Sadly, it wasn't that deep. Just a reference to Dante's Inferno, where you can find the words "Abandon all hope ye who enter here" above the entrance to hell.

I figured people confuse Dante Rosario with Rosario Dawson frequently enough, why not confuse him with a 14th-century poet? :P

It's a great season to be a Panther fan with absolutely zero expectations. It's a lame-duck season with a lame-duck coach and a very young team.

I, for one, will be attending every home game and cheering the positives and won't be surprised or upset with the negatives. First time in many seasons I can go to 8 home games without a care.

You see, this is why you assume nothing and unless you are 100% sure you know what someone is talking about, you say nothing. :P

i really think that the whole delhomme smith connection was a bit over rated. you watch a lot of those plays and smith has no business coming down with the lame ducks jake throws up for grabs, smitty is just a beast and can leap 25 in the air. i'm sorry but a 5'9" wide out should not be coming down with the ball over 6'+ receivers. moore did what he had to do, and that was get steve the ball so he could do steve smith things. case in point, the minnesota game. we've been seeing less and less run after the catch beastlyness from steve because delhomme was constantly forcing the ball to him so there were no opportunities to. moore spreads the ball around better and is very careful.

The long bombs are what we remember, but the more important were the tons of perfectly timed stop routes and smoke routes that kept our offense moving for so many years.

Smith and Delhomme had a timing that can only come from hundreds and hundreds of reps that resulted in Smith getting the ball even when blanketed. Moore won't have that report with him yet.

That won't be a problem if another receiver/TE steps up and defenses are forced to respect other targets.

I think the best thing moore can do is spread the ball around. We have weapons other than smith that need to be utilized to keep defenses on their toes. Smith is going to make plays regardless. I think it might work out for the best that Moore is getting used to throwing to people like, jarrett, lafell, king, rosario....In the end, I think thats the best way to get Smith the ball

Even an 8-8 record with such a young team would make me excited about the future.

I think they go 10-6 to 12-4. No way we'll be as bad as the Lions, Chiefs, Bucs, Rams, Bears, Hawks, Cardinals or the Skins like some analysts claim. The teams that look much better than we do on paper will have a hard time beating this team. If they even can beat this team.

This is my first ever post. Glad to contribute to the board and support the Panthers. I think the Panthers will be 10-6 this year and make the playoffs. The only major concern is the DLine. On defense, you hit your home runs with your defensive line and we're gonna have to see a big improvement there if we really want to compete. I think we'll be ok though. As far as what do I think about the future? The NFL is a fraternity guys, be proud to be a part of it every week. Enjoy it, I know I am. We have competent management, a great Head Coach who we should offer a lifetime contract to and a darn talented football team. The future of the the franchise is bright.
