Armanti Edwards....

And that statement is based on....your extreme ability to guage NFL talent?...your experience as an NFL scout?....Or, that crystal ball that you bought off e-bay?

YOU FAIL.

It is the crystal ball, but I got it off of Craigslist and not eBay. Does that make a difference?

My cousin will be down here in three weeks and we are going to the coast on a fishing trip. I will talk to him and if he says it's ok then I will release his name as my proof. He can get into trouble since that kind of info is not supposed to be told outside of the inner circle so I have to clear it with him. I messed up in stating his position but I was trying to make a point that there were several teams interested in AE before our next pick. I never thought he would go that high and was suprised when we took him where we did then my cuz told me what Indy's plans were and I thought the Panthers must have gotten wind of what was going on.

My neighbor is an NFL scout so I will ask him if he knows TripT's cousin that is a scout for the Colts. That will clear all of this up.

TripT is not a troll based on these posts alone. Whether or not his source pans out is of no consequence. There was plenty of interest in AE and you don't have to be a MENSA candidate to understand that. Its logical. The kid has something special. Hopefully we can get it out of him. I am fairly certain some franchise will at some point in the future. Why not us?

TripT isn't the first person to state that Edwards was going to go to Indy with their next pick. Hell I even made a post about it shortly after the draft based on the rumor's wide range over the internet. Either people just took up someones lie and ran with it or it has some basis in truth. Like stereotypes, most rumors have a basis in truth, at least ones that are widespread, usually baseless rumors get shot down.

Armanti looked good in live action today but dropped two passes in drills. I think sometimes he is just a little overwhelmed with the panthers expectations and truly wants to be great at them all. They really need to give him on thing to do until he gets it down and then move to the next one. We was blocking Captain 10 yards down the field today so he does have that going for him right now.

Nicely played.

My point is that it is WAY to early to make any judgement on a rookie...especially one making a position change.

He very well may not be worth a 2nd rd pick next year. But, he has the athletic ability and instinctive ability to be a weapon...only time will tell.

I don't think anyone on the huddle hopes Armanti proves he is worth a 2nd rd pick in 2011 more than I do. I would love for him to prove me and everyone else who called him a reach ABSOLUTELY wrong. I hope he is the heir apparent to Steve Smith.

He will never live up to the picks. No one will ever let that happen.... Even if he turns out to be a monster we will have still payed too much for him.

He could go on to be the next Jerry Rice and he was still a reach. He was a 4th or 5th round draft pick that the Panthers traded a 2nd away to get. They could have sat back in the 4th round and taken AE with the Norwood pick or traded two 5ths to get into the 4th round and drafted AE. Instead, next year they will be sitting tight in the second round without a draft pick, a pick that could very well be a top 40 pick.

Edwards would not have made it to the 4th round. Way too much talent for that to happen but Hindsight is great right...

For a Rookie he sure is taking on a lot. Not even our beloved Steve Smith too on this much of a job in his rookie season.

I told you before the draft he'd go in the third round and he did. The talent potential was too high to see him holding on until later. Trading out next year's second rounder for him wasn't what I expected, but considering the apparent demand for him, I'm glad our team pulled the trigger.

And Mardy Gilliard went to St. Louis to be a Ram. Lot of folks besides us passed on him, a couple of times each at least. He got picked up by a team desperate for some scoring, heck, desperate for anything. I'm not sure we did anything bad by making a different choice... twice.

Dominating in practice against the St. Louis Rams, looking like a Pro Bowler compared to the competition... which would be the Rams. Okay, I think I'll wait and see how he does against an actual team.

I'm not saying the Rams defense has been sketchy... that would be too complimentary.

Sure, and my point is that I am passing judgment on the FO.

Put it this way, Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick. Was he worth a 1st round pick? Absolutely. Would a FO have screwed up by taking Brady in the 1st round? Absolutely, when he would have been available in the 6th.

And while there are some "experts" with cousins with "inside knowledge" saying AE was going in the third round to another team, I am not buying it. We will just have to disagree on that.
