Who still believes this head coach can go and win the superbowl baby in the future! YEA!!!

....cuz I don't anymore. Yesterday was a loss we've seen before, a little magnetized. Defense gets picked apart on the pass because soft zone defense isn't a good defense. I just heard a coach immediately assert that a QB which turns the ball over 6 times, yes, 6 times, would be starting next season, which, normally would be okay with me, except this is the same QB that turned the ball over 4 times and 3 times in previous games, so this is no freak occurence. The last QB I've seen play that bad in games was Rex Grossman.

Alas, it seems as if a head coach who built a very good team by taking chances (putting Delhomme in the game in 03) just refuses to tweak anything much out of fear that, it can get worse. Or, more importantly, it's a sense of complacency that I remembered as the front runners of this coaching staff like to put forth ("the goal was to make the playoffs"). Well if that's the case consider it a job well done Foxy!!! All you did was make the playoffs!

So while this is the time of the year I normally start thinking changes will be made and Trgo will get fired and we'll hire a DC that fronts an aggressive, ball-hawking defense, QB coaching will be improved and the missing cogs will be put in place, I'm gonna save myself the fruitless hopes and just accept that I'll see Trgovac's dumb ass on the sidelines come opening week in 2007, and QBing will just be sub-par, and Delhomme will get confused every few games like he's done and throw multiple picks. And for every 2 games the defense will look borderline okay we'll play a sh1tfest of a game like we've always done, ya know, 30 points here and there, and we'll have the Fox supporters numbing us with lousy token excuses such as, "it's only one game", and clamoring at the opportunity to tell us "doom and gloomers" that we reached the superbowl with him in 03 because that's all that's left we have to hold on to, even though we've seen this game be played a million times.

It's a new heirarchy in the NFC South you're going to see for the most part of the next few seasons.

1. Falcons

2. Saints/Panthers

3. Buccaneers

Get used to competing with the equally underachieving Saints for second fiddle for the better part of the next few years.

I'm certain I'm not the only one thinking of this. My patience and faith has officially run dry with this coaching staff, up and down the line, and unlike the years prior, I'm not expecting any 12-4 seasons like I always do.

Well, go suck on matt ryans left nut if your so into Atlanta

Last I checked it's the Carolina Panthers and not the Carolina John Fox's. I think it's perfectly acceptable you can be a fan of a team and not a fan of certain players/coaches/etc.

Your harebrained insults along with your misguided sense of self superiority don't dictate my opinions and they never will.

If we beat Arizona by 30 you would probably be all super confident and posting totally the opposite :P

One result doesnt wipe out the future, we will learn from our mistakes and this shock only makes us stronger for next season imo :)

Well here's a positive to assume, that if they actually prove me wrong and go all the way in the near future I can feel delightfully suprised.

Trust me there's nothing more that I'd like than for Fox to be the best coach that ever was, because he's our coach.

Yes we can if he will make the right moves. When the Offense was sputtering we replaced Hennning. When our CBs were playing like crap we replaced our DB coach. Well its time to get a fresh face a DC. Look at the change it made for the bolts and it could do the same for us.

I just don't know... it seems like we have gone from everything being right... to everything being wrong.. the huddle is a mess... man wtf happened??? lol
It is what it is.

Whatever, the commitment I made to myself before the season (don't get too high on wins, low on losses) really made me enjoy what we have. Granted, there are question marks about whether some players will want to stay (Gross and Peppers) and some players that fans don't want to stay (Delhomme, Lucas) but it's not like we have a depleted roster of old veterans with no young players ready to step into the fold.

The way I see it, I call a season a relative success if:

1. We win our division.

2. We win the NFC Championship.

3. The Lombardi. The ultimate goal of every team.

So technically, we got a bronze for our efforts. I'm pretty sure you guys will bash me for saying this but at least we're the champions of SOMETHING! :D

(Now the only question is, should I get a white or black t-shirt...)

I like the black t-shirt better actually. I'd buy one but I don't have the money for it.

    • This was a good breakdown from Daniels.  Last year has had a lasting impact on Young. He still isn't getting the time needed from the OL - the OL we have is made to establish the run and for the run to be in play.  We get behind and have to throw all game we are doomed with this O-line. His receivers have to catch the ball when he makes a good throw to them, he can't have them dropping his good passes. Why are we running 4 slants all toward the same direction?  Why a triple option on 4th and 1? That's on the coaches. Bryce gets hurried and starts slinging the ball where it shouldn't be thrown, more study and recognition from him are needed.  Bryce doesn't step up in the pocket and throws too soon and unbalanced.  He over and under throws the ball because of it.  That's on him.  If the pocket isn't there and he can't get his base set he needs to check down or "live to fight another day." He has been thrown to the wolves and has lost his confidence.  This team doesn't have much, if any, talent and it's a cluster.  I think he can still be an NFL QB.  Maybe not a QB1 in the short term, but if he has a chance with better coaching and personnel he may be better than we are giving him credit for. I think we ruined him last year and have not fixed anything to help him this year.  If we can't run or get way behind all NFL defenses are coming after him.  Dalton has more respect and defenses didn't always sell out to get to him because he'd hit a quick slant, screen, or check down because he has the experience to know what's coming and what to do. Just my 2 cents.
    • All depends on who the backup is. Josh Allen probably would have been benched too if there were better backups than Matt Barkley and Nate peterman.
    • Where did I once say we should draft him because he's a projected Top 5 pick?   That's one of my many problems with you, your reading comprehension skills are very poor (and/or you just don't care to use your brain, one of the two).  I solely used that to point out that me pushing T-Mac isn't some absurd homerism, that at least I'm pushing someone who is deserving of a Top 5 draft pick. And despite me explaining it to you numerous times, you still seem to not grasp how QB's get placed in mock drafts vs draft grades.  They are treated entirely different in mock drafts to any other position, because of how teams generally treat them in the draft because of how important the position is. Literally any other position except QB, mock drafts generally follow draft grades with some team needs factored in.  But with QB's, draft grades are generally disregarded and they ALWAYS put a few QB's at the very top of the draft, because that's just usually what happens.  The exact same thing happened in 2022 with guys like Pickett and Willis widely being Top 10 picks in mock drafts, only for Pickett to fall to what, around 20?, and Willis going in the 2nd round (and even being the 3rd QB if I remember correctly too). The overwhelming majority of draft experts are saying there isn't a high first round grade on these QB's, but they still get mocked there because they're trying to predict how the draft will actually go. That's been my point the entire time, reaching for a QB in a bad QB draft when you have a roster as depleted of talent as ours, does not tend to work out well. And I've never said I'm not open to other players, I've very explicitly said that if a QB or DE stands out come draft time, I'm open to that discussion.  That I'd be open to Hunter as a CB but I prefer a WR over a CB at the top of the draft.  But we're also not talking about the 15th pick here where there could realistically be all sorts of possible picks to discuss.  With the first pick, there really would only be a small handful of options, T-Mac is head and shoulders above any other given our current roster and state of the franchise in general.
