If you had to make a decision...

I know it's just been a couple days, but Moore's looked good both days and looked pretty good at times last year as well (aside from that muffed punt hanging over his head). He's a quick guy who seems to have a great work ethic and desire to learn from his idol, Steve Smith. I wouldn't be surprised if he was our third receiver this year behind Smith and LaFell.

Not to mention it's better to have a fast guy that can actually seperate himself from LB's and Safeties in the slot. Smitty and LaFell as 1-2, with Moore as 3. Decent wheels for that 2% of the time we run a 3 Wide set.

We need to use our TE's more. If we had ones that could block and threaten on pass plays, you could exploit the defense with audibles based on what you see.

We've got a good enough O-Line to do that with a single back set, so we still have two WR's on the field too.

Christ, people.... let the hard on for Jarrett die down a little. People are being way too hard on the guy. He's obviously not very bright but he has a ton of skill and could really help us in some capacity as long as we keep it simple with him. I think he's being expected to absorb as much of the playbook as Moose and it's just not possible for him.

The mantra around here in camp is that camp is pretty much useless in determining who is going to have a big year or who is going to be the best player. Let's see how it goes on the field before we condemn anybody from competing for a roster position THIS YEAR.

I want to see a preseason full of Moore and Clausen throwing routes to these guys and how they respond to that before we start naming anybody the de facto starters. This is probably the most wide open competition we've had at every position during the Fox era.

What skill does he have a ton of? The only thing he has going for him is size. He's not smart, he's not fast and he's not physical.

Not sure why everyone is down on LeFell, Darin Gantt has reported nothing but good things about LeFell during camp and just tweeted this:

Rookie WR Brandon LeFell not practicing. Right leg wrapped, not sure what's wrong with him. Had a great camp so far though.

I was at the Friday practice and kept an extra close eye on the WRs. Jarrett can't get separation to save his life. In both drills and 11-on-11 he was completely blanketed by the DB the entire time. He never got open, didn't even get a step on his man. Hell, not even half a step. Sending him out on the field is basically like telling your QB, yeah, you're gonna have to throw a perfect pass in a 6 inch window or else it's getting picked.

LaFell actually made some nice moves and got wide open a few times and I rarely saw him completely covered. He always seems to at least have body position on his man and he made a couple tough catches as well. One especially nice diving catch by the sidelines. Didn't see any of the drops that had been noted at other practices. He's a rookie and already looks miles ahead of Jarrett, granted it's just training camp.

Our luck as soon as we cut Jarrett he would have a breakout season for his new team!:(

I think thats what its going to take. Jarrett isnt going to do a thing here in Carolina. I hope he succeeds in this game, I just dont think its going to be here.

i'd cut steve smith... it's like a mercy kill. put him out of his misery and let him go to a team with an actual chance of winning... double trouble and john beason must stay tho. they haven't suffered enough to gain sweet release. They're still young... Still optimistic.

Come on. At least wait until after our first loss this year. Let us all have dreams of Superbowl championships for now.
