You know, if this had come from Newton and Person, I would dismiss it as pure speculative fluff.  But these two are in the know....unless Gantt is just parroting DJ--both App St boys, so they are used to cheating / copying.

- Going into 2024 free agency last year we had $35 in cap space and look at all the players/massive contracts (Robert Hunt, DLewis) we signed/gave out

- Guys, we have plenty of cap space to do what we need to do

Exciting?

It could be who we cut and/or trade and not who we sign.   It could involve Horn, Clowney, and or Wonnum, the Gamecocks of our Defense.

LONG SHOT:  I predict, on this ninth day of March in the year 2025 of our lord, that we trade Horn and sign a CB or two.  (Improbable, but hey...)

lol we can create about 30 to 40 mil in additional cap with some simple moves, cuts, and an extension to two players. Its no point in cutting them when you have as much cap as we do as you can resign them for cheaper if that is your plan in the 2nd or 3rd wave of FA.

Just kidding.  I played for WCU back when that was a rivalry.  We split when I played.  I was supposed to go to App but they rescinded my scholarship offer when another university lost its coach and players there transferred.  I held it against App, but it worked out.  I have many friends who went there, so we joke about it all the time.  It is a good school.  I have even joked with Gantt about it.

That's really cool! I remember the Western rivalry well. Always a fun game and had meaning. I was there starting in 1999. Maybe during your time.
