Beats me, buddy.  Look at SF--they are gutting their roster so they can give Purdy a QB deal.  I have a friend who said they should give the QB $130m of the cap and let him pay his OL, WRs, RBs, and TEs.  You want $60m?  Then you have $70m for the rest...

That is what bothers me about Bryce Young.  If you have to pay him $60m in 2 years, and if it takes $80m to pay for the kind of OL you need to protect him, and he needs WRs that will cost $40m and a meager $10m for RBs and $10 m for TEs....we are saying that for Bryce to be effective, it is going to cost $200m.  That leaves $80m for the defense.

We can't keep paying $30m per year for guards while our OTs are making $40m.  $10m at C, and a $60m QB is half the cap.  That does not include WRs, TEs, RBs.  It is crazy.  As you say, we have to draft effectively and we have to be very intelligent about our second contracts. '

Well this is all why if you trade up for a QB in the draft you need results as soon as possible. My issue with the Panthers going into the upcoming season is how low is the bar? Is just good enough or average going to be where we feel comfortable saying Bryce is our future let's start thinking about his next contract? Or do we actually need to see fringe elite QB play often throughout next season even if we aren't necessarily winning? For me it's the latter. I fear for some amongst the Panthers front office it's the former because they are vested in justifying the pick ie saving face for the Tepper's. I want to see Bryce and Canales absolutely slam the door shut on that first season and the early part of the second season.

Jameis Winston visiting with the Giants

With Aaron Rodgers still undecided about his future, the Giants have been busy bringing in veteran quarterbacks. First, they met with Joe Flacco last week, and now, they're visiting with Jameis. We've got more on his visit here. Winston to the Giants would definitely be an interesting pairing.

This actually makes the most sense for them, especially if they draft  rookie QB.  Everyone knows this is  weak QB class and neither Ward nor Sanders are Day1 starters.
