Rule change: teams will be allowed to incite fan noise

Found this article through a link on PFT, I wasn't aware that a rule change has taken place this year where teams are allowed to incite fan noise through visual noise meters and other "get loud" messages until the play clock hits 15 seconds... hoping the Panthers will take full advantage of this...

Good deal. Stupidiest rule I ever remember was the penalty against the crowd if they got to loud. NFL needs more stuff like this.

Not sure when the rule was put into effect, but I was up in DC at a Skins game a few years ago and they had a vid with Lavar Arrington putting his hand up to his ear while the defense was on the field... the place went crazy.

Can you imagine how loud things could get if they have a similar video with Smitty or Beason?

Charlotte crowds can make noise, I was at the first Bobcats playoff game and when they were pumping up the crowd before the game it was deafening.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a video yet of Jerry Richardson, finger to his lips, making the "shhhhhh" sound midway through the playclock. Getting loud to distract our opponent...that's just rude and bad sportsmanship.
